Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 06, 2010 9:35 am Hi all, I am looking for some recommendations for contractors to build a retaining wall on the rear of my house (under construction) The options that I have in mind are 1) timber sleeper with timber post 2) timber sleepers with 'H' steel posts 3) Stone / block retaining wall Dimensions of the req retaining wall 18m length by 1m height (rear) Can some one recommend a good contractor to obtain quotes. Re: Contractor to build Retaining wall in Bayswater North (V 2Jun 08, 2010 10:56 am We just built our retaining wall with real-crete sleepers, they are concrete sleepers made to look like wood, but without the issues associated with wood! They are a little bit more expensive than timber, but is worth it because there is no maintenance, and it looks awesome when finished. We built ours ourselves, but they can do it for you.
