You've got a huge amount of space on your blind side of the house, which is great. How far off the fence is it? We have 3 Metres....not our choice but there is 2.5 mtre easment for the sewer down that side and then we had to move the house an extra half a metre for the water tank as that was the only place it could go...sigh... oh well it will be a great amount of space to hide the clothesline and composts bins etc Re: Herbiecat's Hartley - Bricks, more pics pg 18 370Sep 28, 2010 10:30 pm Kaytee Very nice brickwork. They have bricked up the roof line down one side of the house and around the alfresco which is ACE! I went to visit today and was a bit disappointed that there were no bricks added to the walls but there seemed to be heaps of bricks ****** around??? that was until I had a chat to my new lovely neighbour who moved in today and she told me that there was a bricky there today cutting bricks form 7am to 4pm!! That's alot of chopped bricks! Stupidly I didn't take any piccies of that but I do have some pics of yesterday's progress! Yum. Congrats on more bricking progress. I know what you mean about getting bored with bricks, and being impatient. That's me, always impatient for more progress. Thanks Carlswil! Bring on the plaster I say!! Re: Herbiecat's Hartley - Brick cutter Pics page 19 377Sep 29, 2010 10:31 pm So more bricks today! Yippee! That finished the rear of the house and down the dead side and we also have our first sill! Crazy how small things are so exciting!!!! I reckon I would've rarely ever thought about a window sill before building! Anyway as we were leaving the block late this arvo a truck pulled up with the beam for the front of the garage to hold the bricks up and it had a very funky crane on it and having 2 boys it did mean that we had to stand and watch what was going on. The poor truck driver was very self conscious!!! So had a first yesterday, I had to cross a police cordon to get into my workplace!!!! My work was surrounded by police as there were some protesters chaining themselves to trees because a new road is being built! It was quite dramatic really!! Re: Herbiecat's Hartley - Bricks Finished!! 379Oct 02, 2010 10:19 pm May I present to to you finished bricks!! All finished today! Yippee! The SS said the plaster was happening at the end of the week! So I am guessing that means ducted heating and insulation will be happening some time next week. It's all a bit exciting really! We have been having fun sorting out the cooling this week. We had a Bonaire in the contract which we removed as we reckon we can get a better price than the builder would charge...which indeed we have been quoted for a Bonaire. (around $1500 cheaper than the builders proce) However we really wanted a Breezair as that is what we had in our old house and it was terrific. We had a small house (12sq) with a massively oversized unit which meant we very rarely ran it on full speed. So we merrily went to the Breezair dealer to get a quote and they told us that the biggest Breezair unit would be slightly undersized for our house and we would need two smaller units instead.....*sigh* which means it wont be cheaper than the builders Bonaire unit.......*sigh* Oh well back to the drawing board I guess! Anyway some pics of our finished bricks!
