Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 05, 2010 6:21 pm HI all Just need some opinions on my shower base. The wall hangs over it by 90mm, the full width of the timber. They have just jammed 2 block of wood under it. It’s an insitu tiled base (cut down into the slab). Do you think the blocks will be OK when covered as they may be exposed to water? Do they line the shower with cement sheet to lay the wall tiles on, would this be OK with the water proof membrane over it? How much of a grade is needed to get the water away and stop it pooling in your shower? Would you accept it as it is? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks for your help and opinions. Re: shower base stuff up. 2Jun 07, 2010 2:18 pm I believe the grade for wet areas is something like 1:100 or 1:150 I have seen poly marble shower bases last in excess of 30 years 1 4504 I've filled, levelled and compacted around 100mm of roadbase in preparation to lay some outdoor court tiles. Prior to doing the final compaction, I dusted the top with… 0 3044 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says. Thanks 2 9563 |
