Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 05, 2010 3:46 am Hi all Ive just noticed Ive got a Bloody down pipe right at my front door. Its on the wall next to my door. I will see it every time I open the door. How difficult is it to shift it after hand over? Also I feel I have only a few over long areas of roof. I was told more is better so, can you put them in after hand over, how difficult is it to get them into the storm water drain pipe? Thanks KW.......... “It's just as unpleasant to get more than you bargain for as to get less” George Bernard Shaw. Re: Ugly down pipe. 2Jun 05, 2010 8:39 am it's not difficult to get additional downpipes put in. we had 3 put in recently by the builder as additional ones and we've been in our house for almost a year. In our case Dh then had to pipe them to the soak wells. not sure about moving downpipes. They won't want to move it far ( no more than a metre) as they are usually placed in the best possible place for water catchment. Plus what happens about the hole from where the downpipe was? I guess the guttering would need to be replaced or would they patch it? Re: Ugly down pipe. 3Jun 05, 2010 3:50 pm Thanks for the reply. I can replace the cutter its only 2m long. Are the soak wells the pipes that go around the house that take the water from the down pipe? Above means you need to patch the cornice and might need to deal with… 2 61375 yep sounds good make the footing bigger to to allow for the pipe in the middle 3 7320 Plumbers 'can be' plumbers, made all the worse by self certification which the building surveyor invariably accepts as proof of compliance!
