Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11703Jul 09, 2015 1:55 pm cwiseman We had MJH do all our flooring! These are 600 x 600 polished porcelain! do you still remember how much per m2 ? Like you said 'speechless' Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11705Jul 09, 2015 2:37 pm cwiseman Honestly I have no idea- we did colours last July so I'm sure prices differences since then! Probably though. But thought it will be nice to know ahead what's the price e will be looking at if we were to use McJones. If it's fall within our budget I'll just use them instead of sourcing out. Anyway. Thank you Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 11706Jul 09, 2015 2:38 pm They will tell you at colours- if you have plans go and get some quotes from flooring that you like and see how they compare. After handover is almost always going to be cheaper but this time convenience won in the end and I couldn't be happier with the result! I can imagine your face expression when they said com 40lm to 120lm. And what a relief at the end of the day you only need 35lm.. I wonder why is that too. You've got yourself a pretty good deal. May I know which design are you building now?. Do they put in some extras on top of that? We are building the Monte Carlo Executive with Rear Activities with the Balinese Resort Facade. What house are you guys looking at building and where are you building? We didn't get any more extras other than what I mentioned in my previous post which we got thrown in such as deducted air, alfresco, Smeg Package and Celebrations Package. We are doing all floor coverings, blinds, driveways and yards ourselves after handover. Our site supervisor said we will probably have our keys before Christmas which would be great. CathyLeigh We are looking at building the Havana Renwick in Maitland. Are you building at the area as well. Cool we almost have the same design of house but mine is smaller, but guesss what. The quotation came out I need 50lm for a smaller version of yours. That's weird..Can you share your tiling suppliers? Is that really much cheaper than having it done by McJones and save the hassle looking for qoute n etc. Hey Firsthomebuild We currently live in Redhead in Newcastle but we are actually building in Saltwater Beach Estate at Wallabi Point (which is not too far from Old Bar). I probably wouldn't worry about the lineal metres for piering too much because if they don't use the 50 lineal metres you get refunded back at $90.00 per lineal metre not used. The only worry is you don't want to go over it otherwise it goes the other way and you have to pay them $90.00 per lineal metre you go over. Our build is on a flat block and we got away with 35 lineal metres. I will have to look at MDJ website and check out the Havana Renwick. We are doing solid timber flooring after handover because MDJ don't do the solid timber floors so that is why we are not going through them for the flooring. Then we will arrange for the carpets to be laid after the timber flooring has been done. CathyLeigh Wow that's good to hear you can move in before X'mas! Exciting! I bet you are looking forward to decorating your house for Xmas. It seems quite a few months to go but never early for little ones.My son is playing Christmas songs at home now..opsss out of topic. Btw,how long does it takes to build (handover)when they start construction? We signed a 150 day Contract but that is 150 working days (doesn't include weekends).
