Our build with MJH http://ganilton.blogspot.com.au/?m=1 Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13403May 25, 2016 10:18 pm Got a call from our CLO today saying that they will start excavating our block next Monday and piering 2 days after. Was surprised, didn't think they would be doing anything for atleast another two weeks. Regarding the plaque, at what point do we order it? Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13408May 26, 2016 12:24 pm Thanks guys exciting time ahead. Went to check out my block of land this morning before heading into the office. Just have a few concerns. 1. Noticed there is a pile of rocks have been dumped on out block? a pile of soil have been dumped on our neighbours block too. Should we be concerns? who's responsibility to get that move? 2. first time builder, but what does being pegged look like? Reason for asking is noticed there are 4 wooden stakes in each corner of our block? If the stakes weren't there last week than most likely you have now been pegged also. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13410May 26, 2016 1:24 pm The rocks are likely put there by MDJ for the driveway. Are they close to the location of your driveway? That was the first sign of stuff happening on our block Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13411May 26, 2016 1:25 pm milby Jazz926 Thanks guys exciting time ahead. For the trucks to drive on, and so they don't get bogged. This will be taken away upon completion. The pegs are to mark out where the house sits. They use them to then mark out the correct shape of the house. The levelling is done with an excavator and laser levels. It will happen very fast. Not sure about the soil on y our neighbours block. It might not have come from your block. It might be for fill, depending on how level their block is. But yeah interesting to see how quick they are moving. There is also another two McDonald Jones house being brick a few hundred meters from us. How are you finding your house David? Bricks or roofing?? Hi Linda_K Bricks will start first then roof will follow straight after. We are currently getting roof installed, they work pretty fast we have had no major delays with trades. Goodluck Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13416May 27, 2016 9:50 am Linda_K Our frame is up!! What happens next?? Bricks or roofing?? It actually differs from build to build. For us it was bricks first. But an MJH house around the corner from us had their roof put on first. Have a look in the folder thing they give you at pci/handover - the one with the phone numbers etc in it. It should be in there, call your CLO if it isn't.
