Hey dusk, not sure where you are but we just went through that process for all of the above ! Can give you some names if you like. We're in Sydney. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 3177Nov 19, 2012 8:49 pm we had our first colour studio appointment last week. was pretty disappointed that the colours i've had my heart set on (one Porters Paint and one Resene) i can't have have to choose between a tiny range of Taubmans how hard is it to make up a colour you want in Taubmans? and i thought a few things quite ridiculous that we have to pay to upgrade things like cupboards in the wardrobes, cupboards in the vanities and more towel rails for a 4 bedroom house. these things should be standard. i hope we have enough budget left for things i do actually want to upgrade! (east maitland) so not sure if some of the companies up here? or happy to do work for us and deliever up here?? as for the driveway we are thinking of plain cement with colour in the slab.. less work down track, dont like this idea of having to seal it every year.. not there is not enough work to do around house/ oiling deck year as it.. paint - we just chose a colour that match in with carpet/kitchen colours/and timber flooring.. dont like the idea of spray on first coat and roll on 2nd.. just hope it covers well, figured we'll paint in couple years to come.. as long as it matchs and warm colour - we are happy.. as for the upgrades we had a few, not too expensive.. not too pleased with this 4 options for the flooring, just another way of getting more $$$ from you i think.. we doing timber floors ourselves (or pay someone to come in) yet we have to pay $3,000 on top for that option.. real bugger! dont like bamboo - noisy.. we opted for option 3 for our flooring.... which was leave off all the architraves unpainted and uncut for the rooms we wanted (which we nominated ALL of them) its going to be a big job but once the tiles and the timber laminate floors go down it will be a much better finish IMO. You also dont loose architrave height it just looks more proper. Hi AKG, We had a base tender of $592 for 31 squares from MC Donald Jones. It looks relatively cheaper than other builders.
