Thanks,
It really has scrubbed up nice. It's my favorite part so far.
It was either blue or red. My Wife wanted red and she won that one. At least I got the house networked up.

We have been quoted $2980 for site fencing. I work for a builder and know that this is overpriced by quite a margin. With the upgrades ( internal doors) that we have been quoted, I have priced them through the supplier that they use and they are less than half the price of the upgrade if I took the standard doors and took them all off and replaced them. Just not sure if I should bother trying to negotiate. So far we are nearly $75,000 over the base price and we haven't gone to colours or electrical yet. Just tring to keep the price down a little bit. You can try, but from experience it's a NO Luck. McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 2011May 05, 2012 9:34 am rodman1 emmam82 Ours was started just after all the New Years holidays etc. I'd say we are not far out now. There hasn't really been many days where our house has just been sitting. It's always had someone there, doing something. Hi guys, I have been reading everyones posts for so long now thats its time to join in. emmam82 you are lucky to have someone working on yr house all the time what stage are u up too? Where r u building? We started on constuction list last October and the house has sat there for weeks at a time with no-one working. Our contract time was 130 days. We dont even look close to finishing! Mandv I hope you are finished before Christmas but MJH are soooo soooo soooo slow dont get yr hopes up. Bootylover it seems we are at the same stage However all i see is problems one after the other causing more delays I sadly dont see an end in the near future to this nightmare and stress i have endured. Hopefully someone at MJH reads this and wakes me from this bad dream!! oh no! I thought someone said MJH does read the forum so hopefully they can sort something out for you. Must be very frustrating! Ive felt the same a little, beautiful sunny days with no one on site. But today we drive past and there's a brickie there on Sat! Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 2013May 06, 2012 9:18 am rodman1 Hopefully they can sort everything out cause im in no hurry to move in! I will not except it as it is! Same i drove past today and there's a brickie there on Sat! That's funny cause we had a bricky come yesterday and finish off a gap that was under our alfresco. Are you building in South West Sydney? Looks like we are at the same stage. Our flyscreens went up on Friday and now the only thing that's left is a whyrlie bird and vents, a tv point is missing in our bedroom and there's an alarm detector that we think is missing. Apart from that I think the rest is finished. We still have to do the flooring and landscaping which is a huge job! and put lights up as well. We can't wait to move, we've had enough of paying rent and mortgage. Hope things get better for you. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 2014May 06, 2012 11:20 am Can someone please tell me when "the contract period commences". Is it the date of the contract on the first page? Thanks in advance. KT KDRB Carlingford, NSW Building Garden Retreat with MDJH Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 2015May 06, 2012 5:03 pm Hi all, We too have been following this forum for what seems like forever! As first home buyers/builders, we have been searching for the right home with the right price for about a year and a half. Originally, we had intended to build with Masterton Homes, had two tenders completed but in the end we loved the MDJ design, finish and customer service. After what felt like forever looking at land and homes, we decided on Oran Park (of course the first place we looked) building the Santorini Manor with no changes to the plans. To date, we have been to colours and received our contact on Friday which will be signed by the end of the week. Registration of the land has taken longer then expected. Initially we were told end of March, to now be told end of May. Hopefully building will start sometime in late June early July. To date we are extreamly happy with MDJ! Big thank you to everyone who is sharing their building experiences and knowledge with us. Here's to a relatively stress free build and good luck to everyone! McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 2018May 06, 2012 7:39 pm Pci Tuesday and handover the week after hopefully. Busy busy times ahead. Got no major problems with the quality of the house, seems like its taken forever but it's almost ready. Really glad we chose MDJ as the house design and the quality has been great. Enjoy the ride and if you aren't sure about something ask MDJ. Comparing MDJ to b.......d which was our one of our other option, the difference is night and day. Watching some of the other builds in our area, you really do notice the difference. Things get a bit stressful and frustrating, but at the end of it all, it has worked out for us, I hope all you others who are having issues get them fixed up. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 2019May 06, 2012 8:00 pm goodluck on the PCI.. hope you don't have major issues... it's going to be the longest 2 weeks for you... hehehe.. just a question, have you organised your home insurance as early as now? or you need to do that after handover? also, who will apply for occupancy certificate?
