We have been placed on the construction list & we hope they will start earlier then the 20 days! We had to undertake a bit of work on the block, however we are completely ready now so we hope McDonald Jones gets moving as we would like to see some progress after the long sales/contract & council process Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 399Oct 21, 2010 7:19 pm Coodilly, I am glad things have been sorted with Bill Mcdonald and I am sure things will now move quickly for you. We are extremely happy with the building process so far with MJH. Our experience has all been good from the day we signed up. Great customer liaison with Melissa who is always so helpful. Our SS is wonderful and our tradies have been ist class. Our bricklayer is doing a great job as sandstocks are not easy to lay. We got MJH to do all our tiling and screens so that we can just walk in after handover. We only need to organise the shutters and blinds and the driveway. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 400Oct 22, 2010 10:26 am Hi everyone I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the ugly control joints in our coffered ceiling - well, they have been removed and all is well in our camp! We have just received our pre-handover letter, the appointment is in a week and a half - we can't believe we are almost there! Our construction commenced in late May, so it has taken over five months (with almost four week's rain delay). We have had MJH install our tiling, carpets and flyscreens, our shutters should be ready by handover, so there's not much left to do internally, other than our additional electricals (downlights and ceiling fans). We are busily organising our driveway (black exposed aggregate, as per our Pacific Dunes covenant) and fencing so all should be finished within a few weeks, hopefully. Oh yes, we mustn't forget our VERY expensive mailbox (again, as per our covenant)! Coodilly, glad that you got hold of Bill McDonald and your problems have been sorted. Good luck with your building - where are you in Port Stephens? Good luck too to all of you who are at the same stage as us, it's great that we will all be in our lovely new homes by Christmas! Regards EvyK Hi AKG, We had a base tender of $592 for 31 squares from MC Donald Jones. It looks relatively cheaper than other builders.
