[/quote] Yes, finally got keys at the end of August. However two months after PCI, some items were still outstanding. After sucking long waiting, i don't have any energy to do a thorough inspection. Will do a defect list and hopeful the repair process can be smooth up a bit. The build process with MJH is not pleasant at all. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13954Sep 10, 2016 10:33 am I have not posted here for a while, but after a quick look it seems like a few are also experiencing issues with quality and after sales service. I have been arguing over 2 years to have a number of items resolved. Only when I actually went to fair trading did MJH do anything about it. They also aksed me to give them opportunity to resolve the outstanding issues and not post on social media. I gave them ample opportunity. After making an agreement to fix the driveway they missed that date by a month. Here is their workmanship during the build.. any wonder the driveway cracked? Tradies were driving over it within a week of being poured. This has been resolved now however.. but it took 25 months of requesting them to fix it. They did ruin the front lawn and were supposed to come back and fix that.. they still have not been back for that. One of the other outstanding items is they did not use stainless screws in the wet areas.. hence, there is rusting screws leaking over the tiles. The agreed to have these replaced by June 17 2016 but as you can see that has passed. They are now not answering my questions in email either. In my experience, they don't care once they have your money. Would I build with them again? Definitely not. As I understand, we have already selected tiles for wet areas considering vanity and bench-top colors. Now what else is required of this inspection? to merely confirm that the tiles are delivered correct? or to check the waterproofing etc as well? For us, our pre-tiling inspection was mainly to make sure that they were the correct tiles. We also wanted to speak to the tiler because our tiles were rectified which meant that we got narrower grout lines than usual so I wanted to ensure that this happened. They may also check which tiles are wall which are floor and how they are being laid - floor to ceiling etc Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13959Sep 13, 2016 1:02 pm STAUBS Pre-tiling inspection is as Cathy said to ensure tiles/grout is correct and as per your selections - ours was not so it is worth the inspection. They may also check which tiles are wall which are floor and how they are being laid - floor to ceiling etc Thanks CathyLeigh And STAUBS. Then we must attend this inspection although our SS has given option to confirm the tiles seeing pictures over email. I spoke to one (ad was showing int this forum) and was advised they will usually do it before the PCI or after. I don't get how it can be done after PCI as I would assume customer will sign-off on things they need rectified. Any advice will be much appreciated.
