MJH is probably waitibg for contour report. Then soil test and this is when you know whether its m or h class slab. If you have m class then you get some moey back. Then water board approval followed by CDC or council. If its CDC you can save a month. After the approval mjh will apply for the insurance and ask you to pay the 4%. Once paid and get the go ahead letter from bank the will put you in the construction list. As per the contract its 20 working days to start but they usually start within 10 working days. My suggestion is to stay in touch with your CLO and ask an update. All the best. Thanks, yes it's just a building contract with MJH and not a H&L package. Nope, all the reports have been back for at least two weeks so far. Unfortunately every update I get from my CLO seems to be that the reports will be checked that day or in the next 2 days but it never eventuates. Really frustrating, especially given quite a few people with other builders have already had their plans finalised and moved onto getting DA/CDC approval... I am getting the same response from the past two weeks. I have email evidence with inconsistent updates each time. I am just being patient at this point in time. Next week I might have to take some action to get this rolling. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13673Jul 15, 2016 9:20 am Stuart05 innamakannu I assume yours is not a H&L package. Ok.i know whats your problem.same as few ppl have gone thru incl me. If your CLO is like this you need to speak to the supervisor of CLOs. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13674Jul 15, 2016 6:13 pm Phil94 Thanks mate. Speaking of vanity mirrors i know there is an option to extend the mirror over the bath at the colour studio but does anyone know if there is an option to also extend the mirror to the ceiling? I'm sure it could be arranged Phil. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13675Jul 15, 2016 10:11 pm innamakannu Ok.i know whats your problem.same as few ppl have gone thru incl me. Edit - Actually just been advised by our SS that bricklayer is coming today to load up the job ready to start laying on Wednesday, so whatever that means. How long does brick take assuming weather is good? Just wondering if this is normal? Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13679Jul 20, 2016 1:00 pm Does anyone know how much it is to break the building contract? Currently, plans haven't been approved, and are with the council. The problem is with the plans which is not complaint as there is solar encroachment on to the neighboring block. And to make them compliant, the suggestions we were given is to cut down the ceiling heights from 2.7m to 2.55m. We have asked MDJ to come out with any possibilities to retain 2.7 and be compliant. But looking at their response, they are not being successful. We are not happy going with the 2.55 ceilings. Instead of compromising and going ahead, we are thinking of pulling the plug. But afraid of the contract breakage costs. Any idea how much they are going to be? Thanks in Advance Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13680Jul 20, 2016 1:01 pm chanupg Does anyone know how much it is to break the building contract?
