Out changes are almost identical. I'm more wanting to find out if anyone and made changes to walls? Eg we want to remove a linen cupboard and CLO says its not allowed. We also want to move the fridge but I'm pretty sure I know what the response will be already. Which house are you building krishhd Hey Phil94 Apologies for the delay. I haven't made any other structural changes. We are building the Douglas 28. We got our CDC approval on the 4/5/16. Biggest delay for us was the 4 week wait on the 149 certificate from our local council. At the end of the PPP session they will ask you to sign every pages of the plan. Structural changes are allowed at this stage. They will hand amend and get you sign it after the session. We studied the plan (soft copy) well, asked for few changes like window types from 'Awning' to 'Double Hung', Sliding door to WIR in lieu of standard etc. in summary, this is an important meeting. Also was the system really big enough for the house? Was an outlet installed in the kitchen? We were told we get 6 outlets which means there are two outlets to do kitchen, dining and living room, is this enough? Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 13657Jul 12, 2016 10:39 am Hi Phil, I don't recall being able to choose the outlet type and just checked our selections there is no mention of outlet type, we upgraded our system to 19.23kw 3 phase for $3,540, I can see 5 vents on our plan for downstairs alone. Also was the system really big enough for the house? Was an outlet installed in the kitchen? We were told we get 6 outlets which means there are two outlets to do kitchen, dining and living room, is this enough? Hi Phil, We got the Actron SRA173 (17kw) 3 phase system which included 2 zones and 8 outlets. The only thing we upgraded was the shape of the vent in the home theatre room. We got the vent put in the side of the coffered ceiling in the home theatre room (like they do in the display homes) and it cost us $180.00 to change the normal circular vent to the rectangular vent in the side of the coffered ceiling. When it came to the air conditioning getting installed, the air conditioning guy rang me direct and said that because we changed the normal circular vent in the home theatre room to the rectangular vent it is smaller and not sufficient enough for that size room now. He ended up putting in an additional rectangular vent in the side of the coffered ceiling for us which meant we got 2 rectangular air conditioning vents in the side of the coffered ceiling. He didn't charge us for the extra outlet or the extra $180.00 for the different type of vent. We ended up with 9 outlets in the end. He said that he needs the system to run efficiently and that is why they did that. We have no complaints about the system we got. It heats and cools our house in a matter of minutes. We love it. The only thing I would have considered doing now is possibly adding an extra zone. Can't remember what that cost though. One of our zones is all the bedrooms and the other zone is all the living areas. I am glad we didn't pay any money to upgrade it because it works fine as is. We have the SRA133 (13kw) and our house is 3 bedroom, kitchen, living, home theatre. I love the look of those vents and might upgrade for living areas. We have 2.7 ceiling but no coffering. We only have two zones but are considering having living and the master bedroom on the same zone. Do you know if the A/C changes at all when you upgrade ceiling heights? Hi Phil, I don't think the A/C changes when you upgrade the ceiling heights. We too got the 2.7 ceiling heights and didn't upgrade the A/C and the A/C has no trouble heating or cooling with the extra height of the ceilings. That is a really good idea though to have the living and master bedroom on one zone. Wish I had thought of that because we have no kids and basically heat all the bedrooms at the same time when we really just want to heat the master bedroom. They probably gave us the 17kw system because we have 4 bedrooms, kitchen, living/dining, home theatre and children's activity room. There is an outlet in each of the 4 bedrooms, 2 outlets in kitchen, living/dining and 2 outlets in the home theatre (it was only going to be 1 outlet in the home theatre but because we upgraded the vent to the rectangular vent they gave us the extra outlet in there because those vents are smaller).
