We are wondering what is this isolation switch is for? And why its important? We haven't got any building background in Australia and finding all these conversations quite helpful. The isolation switch is for the cooktop and it looks better incorporated within the double powerpoint, although having a seperate switch works exactly the same! Just adds another switch onto your splashback. Hope that helps. How long does it usually take for them to assess all reports received re the land before they lodge plans to DA or CDC? Let's say no issues and amendments required with plans. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 12979Jan 22, 2016 9:42 am Hi everyone I hope everyones builds are progressing really well. Looks like we might be doing PCI in about 2 weeks. We are just waiting on the exact date from our site supervisor. I am really pleased to say that we are really happy with the quality of our build. Everything has come together really well now. We always wanted to build a McDonald Jones Home after visiting their display homes but initially thought they might have been out of our league but after receiving a quote from them were extremely happy to see how affordable it was. Once we signed our Building Contract with them we were never hit with any additional costs at all. Once construction began we actually received a refund back of approximately $8,000.00 for piering costs which is going to come in very handy towards landscaping costs. Our site supervisor has done a great job with the house and we really do appreciate the effort he has put in for us. We always said from the beginning that we wanted our house to be of the same quality as their display homes and we feel now that this has been achieved. Well done Port Macquarie office. Sooooooooooo looking forward to getting those keys. It has been nice watching everyone else do all the hard work building the house but now it is time for us to step up and take on some of that hard work ourselves in getting the yard done. I will post some more photos when we do PCI when the house is all lovely and clean. Sarah, I hope you get your pool finished off soon. Would love to see some more photos when it is finished. Bet you can't wait to get some water in it so you can have a swim before summer is over. I am just curious - we have been tiled & I'm just trying to question furniture & blinds etc wise Hi AKG, We had a base tender of $592 for 31 squares from MC Donald Jones. It looks relatively cheaper than other builders.
