So I guess they didn't stain both sides of yours? Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 10829May 25, 2015 1:37 pm Well I have contacted ss- painters still there and we just stopped out front to watch the start of bag and paint but noticed back of front door is painted same as wall colour! I had always assumed the premium grade for a stained door would include both sides- may just be an error at this point but just wanted to put it out there to make sure we didn't have wrong end of the stick! Staining a Door doesn't mean half a Job. If you stain the door (Its the Entire Door) one would think. If they have stained one side and painted the other, i'de say the painter has *&^%ed up. I wouldn't accept that if it happens to us. We paid $475.00 as an upgrade to have the front and laundry door stained. If you paid the upgrade price for staining I wouldn't accept the door like that. I would assume the painter has made a mistake. (Not sure if I'm even putting this message in the right section)!! My husband and I are knocking down and rebuilding the Manhattan One with MJH in Sydney's West and I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a Demolition Company they have used or give any tips on what to look out for? Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 10836May 25, 2015 3:12 pm cwiseman No the painter is reading the colour schedule as written by the colours team. I have requested a credit back as we too paid $475 for two coats of stain- what a joke! Have just emailed our CLO- not good enough! At all! Had we been told that at colours that it will only be one side I would've spent my money elsewhere or not at all! Anything to meet a quota I guess. One very unhappy customer by the day here now ! Read your colour documents everyone cause it's the bible Hi Cwiseman, Did they seriously just stain one side of the door? How off would that look! You walk to the front of the house and it's a beautiful stain you shut the door and its white (or whatever colour you picked)? Can you post a pic! I'd really like to see that. Anyway we went to get out colour folder today. It was fun and we'd only been on the walk through. Looks like house work is going to suffer for a few days while I spend every spare moment checking this put and going through it with a fine tooth comb. I'm going to check mine as well now, They better be staining both sides of the door. I have Front/Laundry/Media and WAlk in Pantry doors being done. How Stupid would it look for the Media Doors! That sucks! Ours is stained both sides & it was never mentioned or given as an option at colour selections. I had a call from the S/S last Thursday with some good news. We are booked in for PCI on 5th June & if all is good, handover a few days later. Woo Hoo!! Creedy. Hi AKG, We had a base tender of $592 for 31 squares from MC Donald Jones.
