Our 3 months was up in January and we are still waiting to hear back Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 6025Mar 24, 2014 5:15 pm OMG Nai, they told us between 4-6 weeks from the end of this month! I sure hope your not waiting on anything major. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 6026Mar 24, 2014 5:17 pm sefac Balified Re: PCI, look for any plaster/paintwork imperfections, look above and inside cupboards as well to make sure all doors open and shut properly. Most importantly, take your time and don't rush, get down low when you look at the wet area tiles as well esp if their polished porcelain- we have soooooo many imperfections in ours it's not funny (and they were very expensive) some of them look like seconds, but weren't noticed until we moved in. Check all your windows open smoothly, check all light switches too. check your taps to make sure the water flows right and there are no leaks. It maybe wise to take a notebook and right everything down room by room yourself instead of just relying on what your SS takes down. Look for any scratches or marks in the glass of your doors weather sliding, bifold or whatever- we have a scratch etched into one of our bifold doors that we didn't notice until we moved in, the morning light hit it when I was opening it and it's nothing you can polish out. Don't forget to check the outside as well, downpipes, windows, brick imperfections, guttering/fascia and roofing, garage doors-open and close them to make sure they run smoothly. Great info! We have less than 2 weeks until our inspection. Best of luck for then sefac I hope it goes well for you Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 6027Mar 24, 2014 5:20 pm Nat84 Hi Guys, Quick question - this Thursday will mark 4 weeks since we got on the construction list but we still don't have pegs and the weather isn't looking too flash for the whole of this week - are MJH able to claim "rain days" for the pegging portion of the build i.e. could the rain delay them pegging the block? Cheers Hey Nat84, to answer your question, they should only claim 'Rain days' once they start building not pre peg out. The rain will certainly delay your peg out though I'm afraid let's hope the sun shines on your block this week hey! Good luck Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 6028Mar 24, 2014 5:23 pm Balified Nat84 Hi Guys, Quick question - this Thursday will mark 4 weeks since we got on the construction list but we still don't have pegs and the weather isn't looking too flash for the whole of this week - are MJH able to claim "rain days" for the pegging portion of the build i.e. could the rain delay them pegging the block? I sure hope your not waiting on anything major. Nothing major but I would have thought they would have at finished everything by now. We got an email saying they had received our list of issues but have had nothing since January. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 6030Mar 24, 2014 5:49 pm I'd be cranky if the rain does delay the pegging, considering they've had since 17 Feb to do it. I won't jump too far ahead and assume they won't though, but I don't like my chances Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 6031Mar 24, 2014 5:59 pm Nat84 I'd be cranky if the rain does delay the pegging, considering they've had since 17 Feb to do it. When they called me the day before I asked about that, and they said it would need to bucket down. If it was just showers here and there, it wouldn't stop them. So hopefully that would apply to the pegs! Ive seen them out in raincoats before Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 6032Mar 24, 2014 6:17 pm bradk Nat84 I'd be cranky if the rain does delay the pegging, considering they've had since 17 Feb to do it. We had framework and roofing going up in light to moderate falls (think blue/green on the radar if you are obsessively checking bom.gov.au like I was ). It sounds like MDJ have a lot of builds going on at the moment. Lots of trades are saying that they are flat out and that's up here in the country where building is certainly not a thriving industry. I hope you see some site action soon! Admittedly today it's been quite torrential (and still is) but I think it's supposed to ease up a bit tomorrow, but still shower for the rest of the week. Geez I just sounded like a weather reporter haha Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 6035Mar 24, 2014 7:57 pm Sorry I should say they've had since 27th Feb to peg, not 17th Feb...but still almost up to the 4 weeks!
