Did MJH drill access through to the plumbing for your dishwasher to be connected. I noticed that mine hasn't been - it could happen yet as I think we have another week to go but just wondered if this was something they did or if they left it for you to do after handover, I notice they haven't drilled any access in the laundry cabinet either... All ours had been drilled thank goodness. Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 5911Mar 09, 2014 9:28 pm mrmtee Hi guys We have bought a nice plot in the grey gums estate at kellyville. Decided on MJH for the builder after shopping around and after some long discussions and trips to display homes everywhere and many hours looking at design brochures, we decided on the Milano Four 15m design… Been through the initial quotation and just completed the revised quotation. Also have just gone through initial colour walkthrough at the bella vista office. As they say in every reality show, this is the start of a long journey. This is a first build and hopefully not to many cases of fresh ulcers. But this should be very educational. We started this in may 2013 and should be completed by dec 2014. Congrats and good luck. Hope everything goes well for you guys. We built the Milano 4 15m also and we love ours. Can't wait to see your progress Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 5912Mar 10, 2014 7:41 am Hi Nai, just saw your blog and congrats on finding something, so happy for you must be a weight off your shoulders - all the best to your other half with finding something very soon, fingers crossed... That poor painter and poor you for all of the confusion. Sounds like a diagram is in order. Luckily we met our painter before he started the first coat. He was a bit baffled as to why our outside stain is dark and inside is clear. We nearly had chocolate doors... Step awayyyy from the painters mix haha! We sorted out a lot of last weeks problems with our acting SS and the carpenter today, thank goodness They were very professional about it all. We are still waiting on our new kitchen whilst listening to everyone crack jokes about the original one being 'ash grey'. My poor, burnt kitchen Welcome to all of those new to the forum, looking forward to watching your builds. I hope he get's it right merrynamy! i just want to give the poor guy a hug J and A & MelnTom he doesn't speak any English and all he was given was a PDF version of our colour selections from McDonald Jones which would be verrry difficult for him to interpret. Plus he has been slaving away, hand rolling everything on his own for the whole weekend. we gave him a small thank you gift today, but he must be absolutely miserable any site action yet J and A? im a tad bit excited for everyone on the construction list and want you all to have site work NOW MelnTom, just saw your blog post and so glad to see you're having a better week. props to MJH for resolving most of those outstanding matters. bahahaa @ your ash grey kitchen though Building the Avoca with MJH in Ed Park - BLOG 18/10 Construction list 29/10 Pegged 21/11 Slabbed 27/11 Framed 14/12 Roofed 4/1 Bricked 18/2 Lock up Re: McDonald Jones Homes - The new thread 5917Mar 10, 2014 7:48 pm merrynamy J and A Wow, that Poor painter..... But they did a great job. I went up to one guy and was like "any problems". He smiled and replied "yes yes" I then walked away and let them be haha. My poor, burnt kitchen Oh, that's disappointing! Have they given you a time frame for the new one? Have not had a lot of time to post recently, but have been watching. Welcome to all the new guys! We are on day 16 of the brick work. We received a letter yesterday claiming 2 rain days. I kind of expected that. However I received a call from the SS on Friday telling me the brickwork should be finished by Tuesday, gutters and fascia Wednesday and roof started Friday.. but the brickies did not turn up yesterday, nor today! Claimed 2 rain days and then spent two perfect days doing nothing! So now I just drive past watching the other MDJ house getting its roof on. Hope the weather remains good! Edit: Just all of a sudden had this urge to check to see if the mixer and barrows were still on site.. so I go back to the block(lucky we are only 5mins away!) and notice the brickies have packed up all of their equipment. Not sure what is happening there, but definitely wont be finished today. Brad Oh Brad, sounds like me and my (long gone now) frustrations of "rain days" and seeing nothing getting done, then to have perfect weather and to still have nothing getting done, but to watch other homes in the same street get something done....grrrrrr! I hope they continue on yours soon P.S- still have no NBN and Telstra has now said they can't come until....who knows when, they told hubby the 24th March and then told me the 14th April....sooooooo over it!
