Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The Eskay Saga 81Nov 23, 2010 4:49 pm Oh no you poor thing I can't imagine how disappointed and upset you must be. Is there any way to modify the house so that the value meets the bank's guidelines? ie: make it cheaper? I guess then it's not the house you wanted though ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: The Eskay Saga 82Nov 24, 2010 5:41 pm Deemaree Kyndylan Capers: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=46852 My blog: http://www.sufficientlysufficient.blogspot.com/ Re: The Eskay Saga 83Jan 10, 2011 10:58 am Hi Everyone, Well... the bank (new one) finally approved the loan for our new house. There were a few proviso's, like they only want to lend to the 80% instead of 90% due to the location and risk of not meeting the valuation they received if a default sale had to go through. Means we have to find more money for the end but I've already taken care of that. Their valuation was higher than the previous bank so it's still better. Signed the docs last Friday and they are suppose to go in to the admin office today with settlement in a couple of weeks. The builder is suppose to be back on deck today. I'll send them whatever proof they need and I hope to get the full start schedule soon. Thanks for all the support folks, I've really appreciated it. It's only been 19 months since we put a deposit down for the land... It''s been a long time coming but I finally have a Site Start date!! They will be scraping/excavating on February 7th. Retaining wall about the 10th, and, with a little luck, Slab on the 15-18th Feb. Mind you, the new bank I went with still haven't advised the final Settlement date but, well, that's a different issue.... So good news for a change. I must admit, we're a little tired from this whole process and haven't really been able to celebrate this news yet. I think it will be as I posted before; we'll do a little dance when we see the slab but before that it will be a little hard to get excited. I can certainly empathise as it has taken 20months for us to get to construction (although we have not had the battles you have had, just mainly problems with the builder/drafting). I am looking forward to watching your house progress as its a lovely design (soundproofing - wish I had thought of that!) and we are getting pegged today with the major earthworks to start next week too. Good luck. Congrats on pegout. That's what I'm waiting for too. Excavation next Monday, a retaining wall and then pegs. We also had plenty of problems with the design stage as well. I just don't think they really understood what I was trying to get to and I know they just weren't well read enough on new systems like AC, ducted vac and automation. Automation just had them completely lost. Networking was too hard... It just went on. But that's behind us now, I hope... How big is your place? I checked your thread but it's only 1 page and brief. Do you have the plans somewhere?
