Does electrical in this instance means wiring and cabling? or just the lights, TO (telecommunication outlet for phone/internet), BO (broadcast outlet for the tv point)? If after hand over, does it mean that they need to break the gyprock, wall to do the cabling and wiring inside the house? this is what i don't get when people say do electrical after hand over. what i have in mind for cabling and wiring is that they need to be done when they are start building the framework (the skeleton of the house). i mean it would make sense, to do tiling and carpet after hand over, because they just need to put them on top of the slab. yesterday i also thought about the ducted air conditioner: if we are to install after hand over, i couldn't picture how the air con people be able to run through the hose and any power cabling without breaking into the gyprock/ceiling. it is very confusing to me and hopefully i don't confuse you with all these questions. home link viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34007 Re: **'s home @canning vale ,signed with ross north hom 11May 30, 2010 1:42 am is that possilbe to get your own electrician to get in at frame stage or its against the contract? i really wanna add some more lights and wire/cable into wall but the builder said its just to late to make any change home link viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34007 Re: **'s home @canning vale ,signed with ross north hom 12May 30, 2010 8:16 am Hi **, I biult with Ross Norht 10 years ago aslo got the same response regarding electrical work, now the is two ways to go about this, 1. Approuch the sparky when he's on site and ask him to do the extra's for you or 2. wait till after handover and get a sparky to come in and do what you need. there is the problem with wall chasing though as most electrical companies don't do wall chasing can be a problem some times. I actually waited till after hand over and did it myself was a bit of a pain but it got done. Re: **'s home @canning vale ,signed with ross north hom 13May 30, 2010 9:49 pm Actually, When they say, do it after handover... they mean.... For best cost effective result, you need to select all conduits and switches required, during your build plan with the builder (i.e ross north in this case). So all the cabling and conduits in both internal and external walls are already provided. Once the handover is done, you can get an electrician to come and install waterever lights / other electrical fittings thats requried, they will use the conduit existing in each room. This will cost you lot less, and is the most effective way to do it.
