Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 21, 2010 8:49 pm Hi, I have handover of my house end of next week and my builder only gave me about 8 days notice. I now need to organise my final progress payment or I won't get the keys at handover. The bank has told me the final payment can take up to 10 days because of valuations, etc. Can anyone please share their stories of how long it has taken? I'm with CBA if that makes any difference. Thank you Re: Final progress payment - Help! 2May 21, 2010 10:17 pm Which bank?...just being cheeky. I rang our bank about a week or so before our expected handover date and told them the details. I got the cheque sent out pretty much the day after I faxed everything they needed-insurance, cert of occupancy, and whatever else....oh builder's invoice. They were really easy and prompt at doing things. I wouldn't hand over any money even at handover until you are happy with everything. Get things fixed before you give them any money as once they get their money they may take a very long time in fixing things for you/or not fixing them at all.
