Well we have always meant to have our own build thread but just never got around to starting one, so here is the last 10 months in a few photos! we put our deposit down for land and house at Eve estate cranbourne north/ berwick in july '09. Land settled in nov and we started construction in feb '10. We are at exactly the same point, Tiling done just needs to be grouted only our slab was laid in Dec... Do you have a date for PCI yet? We are expecting to have ours in a couple of weeks. It's getting very real now even started packing! I love your kitchen, similar to mine. What splashback are you having? Ours was delivered on wed while I was there but shock surprise like so may other things so far it was wrong... Race ya to the end! Hi Jeremy, Looking at the date and your comment above that would mean you've had your pci, have you had handover yet? Love the floorplan btw, *cough* has nothing to do with the fact we're building the 23 version Place looks great btw from the photos there, are your kitchen cabinets laminex lustrous elm, bunished wood or something like that? The glossy whites of the display house make it hard to work out what our darker cabinetry will look like. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ main bath Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ on the day of pci we had decided to take a tape measure and measure some windows for blinds and just by chance as i had the tape i measured our fridge cavity only to find it was 100mm short! our ss told us head office would call us to "offer" us a resolution, but then ss called us to say he was going to move the wall and should get it done in a week. here is how the wall looked 1 day later (already moved) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: our Fairhaven 20 by Places- pci pics 9Jul 01, 2010 1:55 pm Looks great Jeremy, fortunate that you caught the fridge cavity its one reason we're still debating which fridge to get. One is boarder line as to whether it will fit the 800mm allowance (with 30mm each side to allow for skirtings at the base). Any thoughts you'd care to share regarding your experience during the construction process? Anything you'd recommend we keep an eye out for? Melbourne West Our build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34169 Landscaping viewtopic.php?f=19&t=51147 Re: our Fairhaven 20 by Places- pci pics 14Jul 03, 2010 12:53 pm thanks kaytee our wall colour has caused my fiance some stress, from when we chose it and she was compairing our little sample to friends walls and thinking what have we done its too dark, then the day the painter opened the tin the ss called us up to ask if it was supposed to be soo dark? making her stress even more. as it turns out the painter had to do 3 coats because the dark colour showed up the plaster join, our ss said we were lucky not to be charged for the extra coat! we are so happy with it though its a really warm colour and not too many people would choose something that dark for thier whole interior Re: our Fairhaven 20 by Places- pci pics 15Jul 03, 2010 3:28 pm Wow, your house looks great Jeremy!
