Check out my thread, im building the colorado. They are a quality builder and are part of Summit, so you get the same tradies with the same quality. Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 3May 24, 2010 3:53 pm Hi Wrexter thanks for the reply. Good to hear you have had a good experience so far. I have just signed a PPA with them. Been a smooth sail so far. Not sure how they are with build time and quality. Got to wait and see I guess. Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 4May 24, 2010 4:34 pm Hi villager We just signed our PPA agreement with Summit too and so far have been really happy with them. From what I hear they have good quality homes and most people have good experiences I hope it all goes well for you. Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 5May 24, 2010 5:38 pm Ditto to what has already been said. We are building second time with Summit. Bunch of great people. Keep in mind with any builder there will always be issues, nothing will ever be trouble free. However, it's how well builders deal with the issues that set them apart. Good luck with your build. I have another thread trying to get info on demolition contractors. Any of you have any good ones to recommend. Mine is a demo and build. Building is daunting enough. I have to add in demo on top of that Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 7May 24, 2010 7:10 pm You could ask Echo. His thread is http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=25736. L plates are on Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 14May 26, 2010 3:48 pm Hi there... We're building The Xanthus with Summit.. we've signed the PPA and are awaiting plans to be drawn and prestart to occur. (Hopefully thinking 6-8 weeks). The process so far has been pretty good... much better than another company we had signed up to but then walked away from... but thats another story. I've built with Summit before as well (granted it was 10 years ago) but it was an OK experience then... not with out some dramas of course but I doubt that any build goes completely smoothly... usually because what you expected and what you get might be different. If in doubt always get it written and clarified in the contract! Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 15May 26, 2010 4:11 pm I'm also building with New Generation (Summit) in Harrisdale. We're up to the roof about to go on, just waiting on tiles. The wiring has been done these last few days. Its gone up so quickly we had slab down at 10/4/10 and we'll hopefully have the roof finished this week or next, depending on the weather. We've had a fantastic experince with Summit so far, no complaints at all. And hopefully none to come! McBecks "Too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right." Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 16May 26, 2010 6:17 pm BuildlingPerth Hi there... We're building The Xanthus with Summit.. I really like your plan with the changes....great entertaining house! I did see about your previous builder Hopefully things keep going smoothly for you McBeck and Building Perth- we just signed our PPA so now it's waiting on our plans with all our changes. Summit have been great so far and it hasn't been stressful at all which is the best thing. We just need to sell our existing property so fingers crossed that happens soon. Can I ask when do you get your pre start file? Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 18May 26, 2010 7:34 pm Awesome to see so many summit people on board. Ames DThe site costs depend very much on area. If new developments and neighbouring one cost x amount yours should be around the same. In my case I am doing a demo and build so its very variable. All depends on the contour and soil analysis. I'm waiting for my engineers report so that they can give me an accurate site cost.. Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 19May 27, 2010 11:26 am That's it...I want my file! ha ha! Thanks for the info on the site costs, we're in an estate in Baldivis...flat as a tac but not sure about the soil. Go the Summit team on here....great to see Re: Anyone Building With New Generation/Summit? 20May 27, 2010 4:08 pm It's great to see everyone coming together hehe. AmesD, we got our prestart file the day we signed our PPA. Maybe you should ask? I'm hoping we get some money back from our site costs. Ours is costing us $9k.
