Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 19, 2010 1:20 pm Hi everyone...I've been browsing this site for a while now and thought it was time for me to start my own thread. My name is Adam, I'm 21 yrs old and I'm in the process of building my first house with Homestart in Belvedere Hills - Hocking/Wanneroo. Its a 3x2 on a cottage block (The Retreat). Signed building contract in October 2009. Slab went down mid March and the roof tiles were put on yesterday! Its taken a while to get to where it is at today but hopefully it shouldnt take tooo much longer!! If anyone else is building in that area (im on Stockholm Rd) let me know! - we might be neighbours! -Adam Adam Homestart - Belvedere Hills - Wanneroo Re: Adam's first house, Belvedere Hills - Wanneroo WA 2May 19, 2010 1:50 pm Hi again... ive managed to create an album with some photos... Hahaha. I haven't been on this website for a while but thought I'd check it out this morning. I'm a few blocks down. I've had a look at your place its lovely! It's gone up so quickly, you have a big alfresco / courtyard compared to the other cottage blocks. I've had issues with my build - signed contract in Sept 09 but still haven't got my pad down. If you drive further down Stockholm Rd where all the houses are going up and there's one lot with nothing on it, that is mine! Have they given you an estimate of when it should be completed? I had originally considered building with Homestart but ended up choosing Affordable Living. My neighbours are building with Homestart and their houses are looking good. Best of luck! Emma Re: Adam's first house, Belvedere Hills - Wanneroo WA 14Jun 05, 2010 11:34 pm Congrats, House is looking good, I'm in the same boat, first house and same age....pretty exciting stuff except for the repayments Is your house getting rendered or just the block bricks? Cheers, Re: Adam's first house, Belvedere Hills - Wanneroo WA 15Jun 11, 2010 4:45 pm Hi Emma, thanks! yeah its gone up really fast actually, i just got notification this afternoon that it has been locked up as of yesterday afteroon! and i should have my first inspection in about 8 weeks and final key handover in about 11 weeks. So aiming for the end of April I'll have to keep an eye out and pick which one is yours to follow your progress! Cheers Karratha - yeah very exciting stuff... cant wait to get out of the parents house for good! Yeah its being rendered on part of the front and bricks left for the rest... i attached some recent photos. Yuors looks awesome so far too!
