My daughter is excited to see all the excavation work happening opposite to my house for the gardens. One question have you used rabbit ears for the tv? Any idea where I can get it from and how is the reception with rabbit ears? See you around. Re: ┠ Acherion's Ascent 2500 | Moved in! ┨ 323May 17, 2011 1:50 pm Hey ourhome, I had the rabbit ears with my old 34cm TV (I am still using this TV until we get a new one), I just disconnected it from my TV and plugged it into my digital set top box. I didn't have to adjust anything to be honest, and there's minimal signal corruption on screen. You should be able to get a set of rabbit ears from **** Smith or places like that (there's a Jaycar on Settlement Rd if DSE doesn't have any). Hope to see you soon mate Re: ┠ Acherion's Ascent 2500 | Handover 10th May! ┨ 325May 20, 2011 9:40 pm acherion andynmel Good luck with the final inspection & handover on Tuesday Acherion, hope all goes well with the move and the wedding. Thanks andynmel, much appreciated. I hope you get telephony connected soon! I'm dreading this myself on my end, my estate is known to be pretty slack on this front. Telstra? Pfft! We have a Telstra pit at the front of our property, we have had a trench dug, conduit laid and the box on the outside wall with wiring from inside the house connected. 3 weeks after contacting Telstra to get them to arrange the new line connection we get told, sorry there's an infrastructure problem in your area. A week later we are told that as we are in a new estate we are earmarked to be hooked up as part of the NBN therefore Telstra won't lay the copper wire from our estate to the exchange. Means we have to wait 3, 6, 9, ? months for a fixed line. Rather than rack up mobile phone bills we agreed on 13/5/11 for an interim phone (basically a mobile phone with call redirection, charges are as for a fixed line and Telstra coughs up for the redirection costs) but a week later we are still waiting for delivery. The courier claims to have come by on 17/5/11 as arranged but if they did then they never rang the doorbell as both my wife and/or my mother-in-law were in the house all day. Finally got a working wireless broadband modem today, first one didn't work. So now we have internet, not the fastest and very tight in bandwidth limits but it'll have to make do until we finally get a fixed line in the distant future. Well at least that means there's a possibility of NBN Ah ok well it could be water overflow in Mernda, not sure. All I know is that at least in the Aurora estate, the blue spray painted pipe (with orange nylon string) is fibre optic. It could be something completely different in other estates. It wouldn't make sense to have fibre coming from the back of the property if the trunk lines are run down the street.
