UPDATE: I have placed below a quick Table of Contents of the pages where interesting things have happened. If you want to read from the start, just ignore this bit and continue reading below.
- Pics of the lot (page 1)
- Builders Permit (page 3)
- Taps! and dumped concrete (page 4)
- Site scrape
- Slab
- Framed
- Frame issue with back wall
- Roofed and wrapped
- Bricks
- Bricks finished
- Lockup and plaster (no pics)
- Fixout, painting about to commence (with pics)
- Tiling
I also have a computer rendition of our colours applied to a M3tr1con house via Studio M Envisage – the house that the colours are applied to is obviously not a Burbank Ascent 2500, but the fascia looks pretty similar so you'll have to use your imagination a bit. Here's the image (click on it to load a bigger version).

Original post below:
I thought I'd start my own thread here about our house build — mainly because everyone else is doing the same and I just want to fit in
You might be able to tell from the title of this thread that yes, we are building an Ascent 2500 with Burbank in the Aurora Estate (Epping, VIC). At this stage we are waiting for our land to title, so we have already signed the contracts, plonked down the deposit and chosen our colours. The steps up to this stage have already been documented at the blog that I have set up for our house build, located here: http://house.georgeandmaria.net — I suggest if you are curious to our decisions and our experience up until now, to check out the blog. Moving on, I'll be updating both the blog and this forum thread.
What has happened so far:
- Signed land contract
- Picked the builder and the plan after visiting a few display homes
- Signed builders contracts
- Visited the colour selection centre (the EDGE) and picked our materials, colours and options, signed off the variations
We are building with the Artico facade:

... and the plan kind of looks like this (we had to change a few things):

The back half of the plan had to be flipped to make VicUrban (Aurora) happy, and we changed our kitchen layout, living room wall and added a door to the ensuite.
