Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 13, 2010 3:09 pm Hi All Am I being unresonable in thinking that being charged almost $2500 on top of standard site costs for connection to recycled water is a bit of a wrought. I just can't help but think this particular company is taking the p!$s when it comes to site costs just because they can. Another builder I have gone to pre-tender with told me not only do they not charge for connection to recycled water but that give back a $3000 rebate because we wouldn't require a water tank that otherwise would be included in the package price. Do other builders charge for connection to recycled water? Re: Recycled water Connection costs 2May 13, 2010 7:29 pm I know my recycled water is an estate covenant; so they charge because not everyone does it. It's like council OH&S requirements (Temp fencing, crossover protection) It's what the council wants not the builder. PD charged me $990 for the recycled water connection. $1,700 for OH&S. Re: Recycled water Connection costs 3May 13, 2010 8:55 pm We paid $1485 for the recycled water connection that included 2 ex taps as well. How much saving will we realistically have ? considering we only have a 4.5 front set back and 5.5 metre back set back. Re: Recycled water Connection costs 4May 13, 2010 9:39 pm We didn't have to pay anything to connect recycled water, we actually got a rebate as for having it as we then don't have to get a water tank - I think that the rebate was $2700.00 Building the Saville27 in Kellyville Ridge Floor tiles done Port-A-loo Gone Site Fence Gone Electrical Done House Cleaned Driveway Done WE'RE IN! http://ebsaville.blogspot.com Re: Recycled water Connection costs 5May 14, 2010 9:55 am andy We paid $1485 for the recycled water connection that included 2 ex taps as well. Shouldn't the recycled water be plumbed to your washing machine cold tap, at least one garden tap and all WC's (for flushing), that's where my water tank is plumbed to?
