I've got a copy and get the part about where the pipe runs, but I'm interested in how deep so I can work out the zone of influence. Mostly because I want to know whether to expect extra piering at slab pour time. I've got a 4 page doco, so if you know what all the diagrams mean I'd appreciate your help. I can always email them to you - it's easier than posting pictures. normette Building a Firstyle, Oran 30 aka THE BIG 'O' Re: Sewer Peg Out - please explain? 28Apr 30, 2012 11:26 pm Hi April, I am currently building a house in the Ponds. We require sewer peg out to be done as explained in our tender appointment. I was researching on this topic and found your details. I know your post is approx 2 years old. However, I am just wondering that do we need to get peg out done or is there any way we can avoid this unnecessary costs? Can you please guide? Thanks Chintan I had the same problem, we were clear of the zone of influence for our sewer but the waterboard was requesting the peg out which through our builder came at a cost of $1,500. I disputed this and was told that if I could get my hands on 'WAC (Work-As-Constructed) Plans' from the developer that we purchased the land from that I would not need Sydney Water to to do a peg out. It took a bit of work, leaving many messages & emails with the developer, I ended up getting my hands on Page 1 of 3 but really needed the rest of the pages so ended up calling every person that was listed on Page 1 whether they were a developer, constructor, designer or finally the 'water service co-ordinator'. Within 5 minutes of ringing the water service co-ordinator I had the plans in my inbox and emailed them straight off to our builder & the $1,500 stayed in my pocket! It is worth noting that these plans had already been done because our block was only newly registered & part of getting them registered requires these plans showing the sewer location to be completed. If you have bought your land through a developer I would be getting in contact with them directly to ask for copies of the Work-As-Constructed or Works-As-Executed Plans, just keep following the chain until you can get someone that can help you - why should you have to pay for something that has already been done!! What area are you in? I am in Kellyville Ridge so if you are anywhere around me & bought from the same developer I am happy to give you the contact name & number of the company I managed to get them off. Good luck April[/quote] Re: Sewer Peg Out - please explain? 29May 02, 2012 9:40 am Hi All, We had a similar issue from our builder. You can request blacktown council for the sewer peg out as we did. And they will email it back to you just forward it onto your builder. You shouldnt need a peg out. The plans are clear enough. Our fees were waived once we provided the sewer peg out report.. thats all theyneed i guess thats what it is. So if you can contact sydney water or council and get this then you wouldnt need to pay ur builder 1.5k for it. Re: Sewer Peg Out - please explain? 30May 01, 2013 6:35 pm We bought a vacant lot of land from Landcom. We have provided sewer "Work as constructed certification" from our contract to our home builder and they say they still need a peg out which would cost us $1500. Is our home builder taking us for a ride? There is a drop of less then 500mm from back to the front of the house. Less then 200mm drop after levelling the dirt. They want to charge us $1500 for drop edge beam. They say is a requirement for Bankstown council. Re: Sewer Peg Out - please explain? 31May 29, 2013 5:47 pm It may interest people to know that a pegout alone (not including fees for dealing with Sydney Water) can be had for $500 inc GST. So $1500 is definitely too marked-up if it is just for the pegout itself. Also check that the "Works as Executed" document can't be found first. Shows the same details as the pegout aims to show. Re: Sewer Peg Out - please explain? 33Jul 17, 2013 10:14 am I know this is dead thread but we are also getting charged this (1Kish). The bit that annoys me is that EBH have exclusive rights to the land to build on all of it, meaning they should of known about this and factor it into the price of the land Re: Sewer Peg Out - please explain? 35Jul 17, 2013 10:56 am Oh yeah I get that, but because EBH and Eden Grange are exclusive, the Sales person should of mentioned this and/or included this in the price of the land Re: Sewer Peg Out - please explain? 36Jul 17, 2013 11:12 am that is not realistic, this cost should however should be included in the cost to build, and should be in the final contract for the build. We are building in GREY GUM Estate Kellyville. Metricon has given the cost for the following Sewer peg out survey - $715 AHD Plan - $725 Statement of Environmental effects - $850 Are these essential or rip off cost by the builders? Can I get any of these from Sydney water or Council? Developer of the land is Hills Shire Council. Please help me with this. Sewer peg out - fair price but information should be available from the developer Ahd plan - again developer should have a plan showing the levels of the ground as they lie and boundary dimensions Statement of environmental effect. Rip off. You could get a rough template from Google but they are not worth anywhere near that much. Thanks.
