Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 12, 2010 1:01 pm Hi, Surfmist window frame and white internal wall, would they work together? We initially chose surfmist as it'll go with our external facade colour and now while we're doing the internal colour, we realised that we would want to achieve sort of an "all white" look (with white window frame) instead. However, if we want to change we need to get our developer approval again, which I would take us ages. Our other option is then to find the sort of other white colour that is still sort of white white but goes together with the surfmist frame. Any advice pls and if there's a pix of white internal and surfmist window frame that would be greatly appreciated. Current selection: Wall colour - Taubmans whisper white (this is sort of a warm white) Ceiling colour - Taubmans Illusive White Architraves/Doors etc - Taubmans whisper white Window frame - Surfmist Thank you Re: Surfmist window frame dilemma... 2May 12, 2010 1:35 pm Surfmist used to be called OFF-WHITE. It is near impossible to match whites anyway, so I would have thought that something which is different isn't a problem. But best ask Michelle... BTW, not sure how white Whisper White is, haven't seen it - is it an upgraded colour, or was it standard? We have pure white window frames and all other external small "trims" surfmist. You can't even notice that surfmist is so much grey-er than pure white, since they are not next to each others. One thing I would change is your Architraves/Doors etc - I would have them in pure white (Illusive White) because the Architraves will obviously be next to window frames. Not sure how the Whisper White would go right next to Surfmist, so rather than going thru the Council again, I would just change the internal trims to white. Or, also change the window frames to same, if you can bear the wait My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Surfmist window frame dilemma... 4May 12, 2010 3:03 pm Thanks Ed Lex, whisper white is white with a tiny hint of yellow (i think ). It's an upgraded colour cuz it's not in the std colour palette. I found it in Bunnings when shopping for the whites... Our preference is to keep the whisper white if can cuz it's a quite a white colour (which we love) but with a tiny hint of warmness as our house looks like not gonna have that much sunlight. Do you happen to have any pix of your pure white window frames and all other external small "trims" surfmist, if not that's fine. I just want to compare ? I would love to have "illusive white" architraves too, but that must provided that we have white frame. Re: Surfmist window frame dilemma... 5May 12, 2010 4:15 pm Hi meatpie, I have surf mist window frames and oriental white inside and it all looks fine. Once you have blinds etc up, you wont even notice them very well anyway! Building Our First Home! PCI Date - 28/08/09!!!!! HANDOVER - 4th SEPTEMBER!!!!!! Re: Surfmist window frame dilemma... 6May 12, 2010 6:22 pm I would have no hesitation in suggesting Surfmist to go with white walls. Considering you are using a warm white – Taubmans Whisper White, I see no problem here. Not sure why do you seem to think that "Surfmist" aluminium window frames would go better with an off-white "Whisper White" than with pure white "Illusive White" My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
