Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 11, 2010 9:29 pm Hi everyone, We had exiciting news yesterday that our slab had been laid! Yay! This came with sad news that we had to get rid of the pile of dirt on our neighbours land. ( Fair enough on the neighbours I agree has to go.) We were however suprised as we didn't think we had to pay for it. The contract is difficult to understand. It states that we are responible for removing treches, drop edge beams and pier dirt. But it doesn't say dirt from excavation. We do believe they cut more than they were meant to as well. Not quite sure what our $20000 in site fees were for! Anyway we don't really know if we have a leg to stand on. We were told it is roughly 100 to 150 tonnes! I am guessing if we go through our bulider it would cost a few grand to do it plus their 20% on top. So we have asked if we can do it ourselves or find someone relatively cheap to do it. So I am asking if anyone has any ideas; ( have had a quick look through the forum) 1. Roughly what it would cost to move the dirt ( past experience) 2. If you have anyone you could recommend to do it. We are in kellyville Ridge 2155. 3. If we have a leg to stand on as to why we have to move it. Thanks in advanced for any suggestions! I have a build excavation calculator you can use based on your plans to double check what your builder is telling you. At 17m long you need it… 1 17648 2 4350 |
