A H class is highly reactive clay classification which means there is potential for a lot of movement when there is moisture about. it becomes a HD class when that movement occurs at a depth of 3 metres or more. Typicaly this occurs in extremely dry areas that rarely experience much moisture. Whrn they do however get that moisture, the ground soaks it up at depth. Sorry, I am not too good at explaining it. If i am not too clear, let me know and I will try again for you. Also from AS2870 Residential Slabs and footings. Therefore an HD slab will have 600 deep edge beams compared to 500 for H. Also depending on the length of the slab you will most likely have SL92 mesh rather than SL82. I would also like to know if anybody knows the thinkness of the HD CLASS SLAB. Is it defferent from the H CLASS? Re: Who can tell the difference between class H & class HD S 5May 15, 2010 12:22 pm The thickness is normally 100mm, for all slabs to AS2870. View our blog at: http://room4acubby.blogspot.com/ The Soil classification has little to do with piers. The purpose of the classing of the soil is to identify the clay content and the "average expected range of movement… 2 9859 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13104 I don’t think so as the floor area over 300 square meters then it is class 3…. 12 17940 |
