We have had lots of access to the house during the build and our concerns have been addressed during the building and at this point we cant find any major problems. Visual checks on finishes etc. are okay as long as you take your time and check everything from all angles. But do you know building regulations to be able to check that they have been adhered to, although at this late stage most of it is hidden behind plaster. If you take a ladder with you are you competent enough to climb into the roof space and check that insulation, wiring etc. is all okay? You need to base your decision on whether to have a professional do it for you on your own abilities and experience. Good luck, hope all is well and that you are in your new home shortly!! Meeting has been booked for Wednesday and hopefully settlement with follow shortly after.
