Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 09, 2010 11:41 pm Good Evening Everyone im in a bit of a pickle about deciding what house plan to have atm, i have 3 designs 2 are aussie living and one with good life homes. i need the space for myself and future child and my mother who is building with me. Plan 1: i went through today and fell in love http://www.aussielivinghomes.com.au/Awa ... Good-Times i do like this one as it has a nice feel to it open has nearly everything i need. few minor things i would change is putting doors to all robes and moving a couple of things around. Plan 2: off the plan- no display wish there was though. http://www.aussielivinghomes.com.au/Awa ... e-Serenity mum likes this one more but im unsure of it, looks a little unfuctional. Plan 3: the lifestyle plus http://www.goodlifehomes.com.au/specials.php this is a promotional home. i love it and has all the rooms i wanted but it is a very small place and both mum and i are finding it hard to work it the way we like. we are booked in for an appoinmet for finding out the cost and extras etc for this plan but im not convinced yet. if anyone has built or are building in this area, and with any of these 2 companies, how did u go/going? what do you think is a better plan for the space and money? thank you heaps and all advice i am very greatful Re: Lakelands/Meadow Springs- Aussie Living. need advice 2May 10, 2010 1:22 pm I am not building with that company nor do I know anything about them. However, my vote is for Plan 1. It seems to be a much better layout than the other ones. The only suggestion that I would make is perhaps closing in the Theatre Room and putting double doors on it so that any noise would not carry so much to Bed 1. Design wise, I'll vote for 1 as well. Good luck! Re: Lakelands/Meadow Springs- Aussie Living. need advice 4May 10, 2010 3:07 pm ohhh 2 votes for plan 1 how exciting thank you for the votes on plan 1 northbound and saemiseon northbound, we had considered putting doors to the theater but they quoted 1700 for it so we decited if we built that particular place we would alter it a bit. put doors to robes in all rooms, and ensuite and laundry. make the shower bigger in the ensuite and get rid of the dividing wall for the toilet. door to seperate entry bed 1 and theater where family room wall is and turn the recess into the linen cuboard. the linen would be fliped round to the kitchen as a double fridge/freezer recess and the fridge recess at the end would then become the pantry. get rid of the linen out of the laundry for at a later date a bench. and upgrading the carport to a garage. thats basicly all i would change to the place. when we did the walk through the sales rep was realy nice and we are waiting for the quote on all the alterations and laminated floors and carpet and venitian blinds. i cant wait to hear what she comes up with. mabe we can bargain with her a bit so that it meets to our budget. Re: Lakelands/Meadow Springs- Aussie Living. need advice 5May 10, 2010 3:09 pm I suggest you get the door for theatre too.. We got quote for 1200 that's the door and the brick wall too I assume. but I strongly believe we need a door to theatre..otherwise it's not really..... a theatre. haha what you can do is get them to put a door panel and just get doors yourself if you think they're overcharging for the door (which they are!!) Re: Lakelands/Meadow Springs- Aussie Living. need advice 6May 10, 2010 3:13 pm ok cool ill take that into consideration Thank you so much for the effort. We will use it to talk with builder.
