Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Upgrades - What did you wish you had put in ? 21May 09, 2010 10:44 pm We have a wine holder included as standard and I pointed that fact out to the consultant and as she pointed out her wine doesn't last long enough to be spoiled......I'll use mine to store rolled up teatowels in! Would of saved so much and had more features. But here's my list 1. Laundry chute - considering paying the variation fee to do this 2. more lights and power points 3. vac-pan - they just make life so much easier 4. changed the location of my laundry. 5. changed location of my stormwater tank Villina with Trend facade Sydney Re: Upgrades - What did you wish you had put in ? 23May 09, 2010 10:55 pm it's too late to change our plans but if I were able to I'd add - long niche above the bath (great for resale if people have kids) niche in the bathroom shower. (we did pay $210 for one in the ensuite but should have got one in both bathrooms) overhead cupboards in the laundry - didn't even think of it until I'd seen some pictures on H1 increased the height of the fridge void which is only 190cm (or is that 180cm - will have to check) microwave void in the kitchen more overhead kitchen cupboards re: wine rack above fridge? our builder is including one for free, but it will be useless if it's the wrong temperature to store wine. Re: Upgrades - What did you wish you had put in ? 24May 09, 2010 11:07 pm Rowena- I had them put in a shower niche when we were at ColourWorld, same with fridge space and if you want those laudry cupboards ask as well. There shouldn't be a contract variation because your builder hasn't got your colour selections yet. OMG, I could kiss you...I think I will and a hug...urgh? no emoticon for that one ...I'll let you into a secret...we actually going tomorrow and I am just beside myself. Thanks heaps. I'll add them in tomorrow. BTW - did your builder add another 20% onto what you bought at colourworld? No, the paperwork has the costings although it does specify that the builder will confirm the items and return the variation on his letterhead for signing.
