Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 61Jun 21, 2010 10:35 pm Hi! I'm new to the forum and I've also just signed on with M to build the Santorini 29 breeze in Eynesbury. It's a beautiful house and I'm very excited to read your posts about how your builds are going. Our land doesn't title until the end of the year so I can't imagine that we'll start building before Feb next year at the very earliest. Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 62Jun 29, 2010 9:27 pm Hi all, I have also decided to build Santorini 29, in Sydney area. I am only in the first stages with the builder, after asking for a different plan, realised this one will fit the best on our block. Could anyone please tell me if a slab for outdoor room is included and also approx. upgrade to Kingston facade. Thanks and good luck with your build. If you want to have the slab in preparation for tiling I was quoted $1215.00 However if you choose decking you are looking at around $3375.00. This is for the standard outdoor room with no extension. Like everything with the big M it is all about the upgrades. Congratulations you have chosen a great house to build. The base price is $202990 I think, with the recent increase. Will keep an eye on this thread. Good luck with your build. taki Building Havana Elite with side HT with MJD 20/04/11 DA approved by council 06/06/11 cut/fill 08/06/11 piering 20/6/11 slab 11/8/11 frame complete 18/9/11 lock up 28/11/11 handover booked Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 66Jun 30, 2010 6:37 pm Hi emilygirl, That's a hight price for outdoor unless it includes extension and decking. They haven't priced it for me yet. Now they are saying internal and external door to garage is not included, I know at leat internal is, it is on standard plan on the website. I thin we'll go for traditional facade as if we choose Kingston then need to set the house back further 24 cm (not much, but would prefer it in the bcakyard. Could anyone tell me how much are eaves 450 mm to this house, I've been quoted $4620. I also think they ned to flip the house and we'll see about that. Hi Kayjay - quick question about extending the slab for the outdoor room. If we want to put decking there, do we need to have a concrete slab underneath? Taki - I was quoted today for 450mm eaves at $3850, but we have 450mm eaves at the front as part of our facade, so I suppose that figure might not include the front. We're not sure whether to have eaves or not. Does anyone think it's worth doing?? rstar Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 68Jun 30, 2010 10:35 pm Hey Taki Are you building the 26 or the 29? I am building the 26 and 450mm eaves were $1850. The garage door is not a standard inclusion but the two other doors from the garage to the back yard and the house are included. If you want a remote control garage door then you are looking at around $860.00 for the remote and the door itself starts at about $458.00 for a woodgrain look. Just a hint also when you come to your bathrooms. If you want chrome waste to the bath and basins you have to ask for it. The option was not given to me and it was only when I spoke to someone else who is building the Santorini did I find that this was not standard and that you had to pay for it. I like the look of the chrome and so contacted studio M and got this changes. Also if you choose to get a colorbond roof you need to know that they do not include sarking. This was not offered to me either, I had to request it. Colorbond recommend that all their roofs be lined with sarking and I believe in some states this is also required to get your 6* rating. If you want any other ideas on price message me privately as I don't want to hijack this thread. rstar - I believe you don't require concrete slab when you are doing the decking. They only offered to do this if I wanted to have it tiled which I was originally going to. Kingston facade includes eaves to portico only but it is an increase of $3000 (also high compared to quote other got). Slab for outdoor not quoted (don't know why not and will have to get onto that). Provisional site costs $25000 and Basix $10000. Above prices are all estimates as we have only started the process and have not paid $1000 deposit yet. I'm still waiting on more information to do that, such as outdoor room slab and siting of the house ( I think it's sited incorrectly and has to be flipped), and also contract conditions as our land won't register yet and I would want more then 150 days. I think we will need H-class slab, also hope site costs will come under above amount. And hopefully basix as those things outlined in basix we would obtain through current promotion or as an additional upgrade. taki Building Havana Elite with side HT with MJD 20/04/11 DA approved by council 06/06/11 cut/fill 08/06/11 piering 20/6/11 slab 11/8/11 frame complete 18/9/11 lock up 28/11/11 handover booked Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 71Sep 30, 2010 12:48 pm g'day all, apologies for the mass delay in updates... life gets too hectic at times. we're nearly finished building, just the final touches need to be done on the place.. front door needs another coat or two, and a few other small jobs...
