XT4V did you get yours done by M ? or by another company... Faerie: they put these chemicals down during slab stage to protect the frame.. (I think)... Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 47May 28, 2010 11:46 am I believe there is a certain building standard that they need to adhere to anyway as far is pest control goes. Also being a concrete slab reduces the risk and also a protective barrier should be installed between the slab and timber which is like a strip of bitumen Ive been told which also reduces pest infestation. Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 49Jun 05, 2010 9:25 pm Do you have a blog XTV4. i am building the same house in the suburb next to yours and am really keen to see your progress and more pics. Do you know whther or not you have two waste pipes (40mm) coming out of the ground in your ensuite, because i find it weird as we only have one, but have double vanity's and i see that you have the double vanity option as well. We have our slab pour this week and i want to make sure that what they have done is no different to yours. I'll be watching this thread with interest. Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 56Jun 16, 2010 11:20 pm Hi PDD, We are also building the Santorini 29 in Somerfield and are waiting patiently for a reply from DAP, its been over 6 weeks!! Have been chasing M for a reply and was told we should get an answer sometime next week. When did you sign your contracts? we signed back in Dec 09, we still dont have our start date!!! Look forward to following everyone's build, the Santorini is a beautiful home! Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 57Jun 17, 2010 9:00 am Good to see you've got progress Xt4V Our frame was completed last week and we had our building inspector in on Tuesday. Basically our slab was kinda poured a little smaller in some parts than it shouldve been so the frame is overhanging - something that needs to be fixed. The biggest issue was the garage frame, but all should be fixable. there are now officially 3 santorinis that I know of that are being/will be built in Somerfield. What facade did you choose PDD? At the moment we are almost finished frame stage at as well.. They are doing the final touches on the roof at the moment so I rekon shouldn't be much longer. Faerie: I feel sorry for what has happened to your slab. It will be alright when it is all fixed. We had our inspector come over and inspected the slab when the concrete was poured and when it had dried. The funny thing was that the people doing the frame was there while he was inspecting so that has got them on their toes Xt4V: hows your house going ?? You should be one step ahead of me Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 59Jun 17, 2010 6:27 pm hey all, sorry been a bit slack getting photos up, been very busy. havent been down since the weekend so dont have any photos to show unfortunately.. will have them up tomorrow most likely. anyway, the trusses are done and we've got our frame inspection with the supervisor tomorrow morning @ 9am... will let you all know how we go apart from that, sounds like everyones got some good progress here these guys can fly when they want to!
