I just drove pass my place and it seems I am one day behind ya. My block has been scraped and a tap has been installed at the front. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me Just wondering if you know whether the scraping includes taking all the rock or will this be done later ? Coz I was expecting a lot of rock in my area but didn't see any dug up ???? Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 24May 24, 2010 5:58 pm Very exciting for you guys, i cannot wait to see something happening on my block. here is my blog of santorini 29 http://building2010metricon.blogspot.com/ very excited to watch your progress Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 25May 24, 2010 6:40 pm its a bit wet here, so didnt have time to get down there today.. doubt anything would have happened today anyway. gacho XT4V !! Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me Just wondering if you know whether the scraping includes taking all the rock or will this be done later ? Coz I was expecting a lot of rock in my area but didn't see any dug up ???? if the sites been scraped and there is no sign of rock, as far as i know you're good to go. they build the slab up from here, so you should be ok providing they dont hit anything big when doing the plumbing.. fingers crossed nelkak Very exciting for you guys, i cannot wait to see something happening on my block. here is my blog of santorini 29 http://building2010metricon.blogspot.com/ very excited to watch your progress welcome to H1 will keep an eye on your build.. good luck Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 26May 25, 2010 9:34 pm Hey i was reading your posts and saw that you are having Big M plumb future water tank to your toilets, i wanted to know how much they charged you for it. Can you please reply with the amount they charged you would be great. Santorini is a beautiful house, good luck with you build. Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 27May 25, 2010 9:54 pm hey there sandil, the price from memory was around $1500, i'll double check it tomorrow and let you know. --- Update - Just went past and noticed we've got a meter box and a couple of cubes of crushed rock for the plumbers... at a guess, plumbers will be in tomorrow or the day after. No photos as was pitch black.. will get some over the weekend, should have more progress by then Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 28May 25, 2010 10:17 pm Hey i was also charged $1580 for plumbing for 2 toilets, do you think the price is reasonable and what else do you think we need to do after handover in regards to water tank. My house may start next month, will be following your build. Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 29May 25, 2010 10:20 pm I dont think any prices are reasonable, only because i've owner built haha they have to make their margin, but I think that all builders in general charge way too much. after handover, you'll need to get a plumber in to plumb a tank and a pump (such as a davey rainbank)... this will auto switch back to mains water if the tank runs out Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 30May 25, 2010 11:27 pm just drove pass my block too at 11:00pm hhehehe got temp fencing around it with white pipes in the ground.. hopefully that is the plumbing.. but still NO ROCK ???? very confused at the moment coz our area is full of it !!! Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 31May 25, 2010 11:31 pm gacho, you're very lucky by the look of it extracting big rocks could have put a dent in your bank account hehe Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 32May 26, 2010 3:37 pm I sent an e-mail to my customer co-ordinator. She told me that no drainage has been done so they are not sure if there will be any rock. At the moment they haven't dug any up. She also told me that she will call me up on the day if they hit rock before the remove it from the site. Hopefully we can get some of our $7000 rock allowance back !! Re: Santorini 29 [Big M] 34May 26, 2010 4:37 pm hey XT4V seeing how you have owner built and know that your being overcharged, why are you building with a big builder? If so what were the "special circumstances" under which it was granted? "Note: If the development consent is for 'dual occupancy' an owner-builder permit can only be… 0 13985 |
