Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 27, 2007 10:13 pm Which one to choose, a wall mounted paraline or ground mounted? Are are the pro and con for these two? For wall mounted paraline i am a little concern if it may affect the structure of the wall since laundry could be sometime heavy!
My backyard is not suitable for rotary type cloteslines. Thanks. ozn Re: Paraline clotheslines: wall mounted or ground mounted? 3Sep 28, 2007 9:29 am We have just put in a ground mount clothesline (we didn't have enough brick space to have the wall mounted one).
If it was me, I would say mount on the bricks ... especially if it is one of the big family size ones. The ground mount seems very flimsy and while I know it isn't going to fall over, just one push and it wobbles all over the place (and this is set in 600mm concrete. I just have to ensure that heavier items are put towards the back of the clothesline not on the front. but regardless of which one you go for .. i think they are better looking than the old ones that whizz around. Re: Paraline clotheslines: wall mounted or ground mounted? 4Sep 28, 2007 9:49 am Hey oznow,
ATM we have one of the retractable wall mounted clothes lines that is mounted under our pergola. Its perfect! Just pull it out when you need it & retract back into the unit if you're entertaining etc. Doesn't look out of place at all mounted on the brickwork. The unit itself is about 650 long & 150 high. The one we have has 6 cords & it stretches over 6 metres. I've attached the mounting brackets on one of the pergloa posts. So thats 36 metres of line, which is great with us & 2 kids (that seem to get their clothes dirty without even trying). Will definately go with the same option in our new house. Cheers, Mike. Plenty of wind to dry them and no running out to grab the clothes at the first sign of rain... and retract them when not required. Have to admit, we did install a wall mounted unit at the last place, but never used it. We used the undercover one all the time. Re: Paraline clotheslines: wall mounted or ground mounted? 7Oct 03, 2007 8:28 pm We've got a wall mounted one - missus really likes it. I mounted it for her height (she's 5' 3") which means I either have to hunch a little when I'm doing the washing (rare ) or I hit my friggin' scone on it!!!
