Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 03, 2010 4:33 pm Hi, I am building my new home. Just get confused on the first step - brick colors. I chose brick "blackwood" because i wanta dark chocolate feeling. But effect from Austrial is bit red. It looks totaly different with the picture I took from builder 's gallery. So, which one is the true of "brickwood"? dark chocolate or red? Can anyone help to show a picture of built home with "Blackwood"?? The brick I am using looks really dark on the website compared to real life, and I had it confirmed not to use the website/brochure as a color indication, but the sample walls in the brickyards. Hope it helps Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Help, I am confused about the brick color 4May 04, 2010 1:55 pm Not sure if you are the first batch to build along your street...but I selected my brick colour more to the reds because my entire street are either nougats or various shades of browns. Just a thought. Re: Help, I am confused about the brick color 5May 04, 2010 5:49 pm The lighting indoors can often be misleading when choosing colours. As others have suggested contact Austral in the closest area to you and they will give you some addresses to go and look at where the same bricks have been used. They will also give you a few bricks to take home and ponder. Re: Help, I am confused about the brick color 6May 04, 2010 7:35 pm bricks were my biggest worry. best thing is to get an idea then ask for address's to drive past as they look completely different than websites and their display boards and walls. I looked hard and long for my bricks and when I went to the big M to choose I was shocked out how yuk they looked on their display board and would NEVER in a million years chosen them based on that. I was just lucky I already knew I wanted them based on drive bys only Re: Help, I am confused about the brick color 7May 05, 2010 10:10 am bel Hi, Have you seen these threads? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=25849 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=25846 Also, have you asked Austral to give you address of homes that have used the brick. Just bit lazy and thought skip the drive If this is a custom build then I would expect the builder to set out the door frame closer to the wall to avoid the gap between architrave and the wall and or specify… 9 8343 I would probably definitely consider contrasting out garage door (e.g. light ash would look great) and make downpipes and fascia same colour as your walls, not as your… 1 3602 Suggestions please for acrylic rendering Color to match austral brick urban one pepper.
