One quick question. After waiting forever for out house to start we were suprised on friday with the exvavation starting. It was finish and a temp driveway put in. Tomorrrow they are doing the piers. Just wondering how long between doing the piers and the slab being layed?? Thanks in advance for your response. Re: How long between excavation and slab? 2May 02, 2010 6:48 pm Hi Kridge, Our house construction started recently with the site excavation done on the 22nd of April.By last friday,the builders had finshed doing the levelling,drainage pipe and adding soil part.They reckon by this weekend the slab will be poured.So I guess,it take around 10-14 days from the day they start work on the block.I hope things go smoothly for you as well.Good luck with your house . My site was excavated on the 21st of April, pipes were done yesterday and I'm told the slab will be done by this coming Friday at the latest (unless there is terrible weather of course!) So yeah, about 2 weeks or so. I think you'll find things happen very quickly from here and then slow down once the shell of the house is up.
