Very nice. We look forward to more pictures. For the theatre room, is one of the doors missing or is it one very large door? I'm also after a double door opening between my theatre room and the main living area and would like to see your finished doors. Still tossing up between two normal doors, two bifold doors or two sliding doors. If you could have any, which would you choose? You will need the doors to be heavy (for sound insulation) and bi fold's have extra gaps and weight restrictions... I will have Swinging on mine. Rod has sliding on his. SLiding is good if you have a smaller room too! i want to talk to our brickie about doing them in our place but they will be in solid internal walls. I guess you need to put in some kind of lintel to support it. any thoughts from the experts? is it a different technique in brick veneer homes compared with double brick? SLiding is good if you have a smaller room too! Matt Matt, Thanks for the feedback. My main concern with swing doors is that they restrict what you can do along the opening wall. My main concern with sliding doors is that the ones I've seen are rarely totally shut. A swing door gets closed and it latches closed. A sliding door tends to bounce when closed and leave a gap. Do you find that Rod's doors are usually slightly open? What? Why would any one want to risk losing half of everything after spending so much money and having so many lovely memories during the process! Re: A picture extravaganza! 29Sep 26, 2007 10:09 pm No they seems to be..
That said though he closes them himself and he possibly has a knack to it. Thought about sliders, but liked the look of the double doors opening into the room. Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: A picture extravaganza! 31Sep 27, 2007 2:57 pm Looking great, Vanderlay!
Thanks for posting the pic with the niche - it reminded me I saw one in a PD display home ages ago, and keep meaning to mention it to my builder! I want them too. What colour are they going to tile the back of the niche? Re: A picture extravaganza! 32Sep 27, 2007 3:04 pm donuts Looking great, Vanderlay! Looking fantastic. Very jealous here. Colours are great! Also love the niche. We went for one as well in the ensuite. Not long now before you're in. Bet you can't wait. Cheers, Mike.
