Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Are you a guy or girl home building nut? 41May 02, 2010 7:29 pm Well most of you know I'm a girl... I was going to say 'lady', then I thought of Little Brittain and so I'll stick to girl. Lots of people still reply with "thanks Aaron", or "hi Aaron"... meh Aaron does sit next to me to tell me what plumbing advice to give people, but that's about it, the rest is me... I, Min post most of the time but Andy does too. Sometimes he has even put my name on his posts. Very cheeky. Most people address him when posting to us but I don't really care. We both read H1 and have gained so much knowledge plus met heaps of people in our estate and even in our street. It's like online dating a whole suburb. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. I mean, a ginger kid with two friends? Sincerely, Anonymous Re: Are you a guy or girl home building nut? 46May 03, 2010 10:07 am I'm the girl half. I'm totally addicted to this forum and reading what's going on with other people's builds. My other half isn't into computers or the internet at all, whereas I spend heaps of time on the internet. I'm the one that is obsessed with our build and gets completely frustrated at the delays, and either he isn't fussed, or I whinge enough for the both of us so he doesn't see the need to. But we do make all the decisions together. Colour selections went pretty smoothly as we agreed on everything. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Are you a guy or girl home building nut? 47May 03, 2010 10:59 am Name and avatar give it away a bit, but another bloke here, looks like there are a few more than I first thought. With no SO, my primary use of this site was idea gathering, and I too became a convert of checking on other's builds. And for all those that enjoy doing colours, etc on their own, I would have prefered it if I had someone to share the decisions with, there was plenty of mind changing all the way to the selections, and its only me to blame if it goes pear shaped. Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes.
