This gets you the double vanity, and also allows a bigger window in the ensuite. The laundry I have changed the locations of doors to allow the right wall to be storage, and as a result have also had to shorten that bench that was on the external wall. This made it seem easier to put your trough and washing machine over to the left wall, and add a thinner bench along that side. It should still be plenty of room to fit a laundry basket, and lots of storage under =) I've also done the changes that I previously mentioned to your bathroom - allowing a full length bath tub, and adding a larger linen to the outside wall (taking up some of that massively wide hallway). I'd either move the fridge space up to meet with the new wall line (and in turn, make the pantry larger), or you could use that space between to put in some kind of funky decoration - a huge vase or a fish tank or something? I also added the bifold doors along your dining room the way that you had previously said you wanted. If you do these, you probably can't move the bedroom door and will need to shorten the robe to fit the ensuite changes. Hope some of that helps. Take or leave anything you want =) Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 88May 07, 2010 7:15 am oh wow im taking ALL of it our kitchen design has always been planned to meet that wall (the island also sits more in kitchen) you are wonderful!! we start 29 May!!! I'd recommend putting it back where it was, but swing it outwards to the dining room. I'd also suggest going half linen half broom cupboard along the wall in the laundry I'll be at my computer again in about two and a half to three hours and can send you the changes almost immediately thereafter Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 91May 07, 2010 1:55 pm Just thinking furhter - the wall for the shower in the main bathroom should extend from the outside wall and go in to the room. You need some space to add in a vanity in the bathroom, so between the shower and bath is your best spot. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 92May 07, 2010 2:05 pm Yes was thinking over doing a over bath vanity for all the kids toys etc ? count down to starting renos! ************* First time renovator VIC Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 93May 07, 2010 2:43 pm candice.novak Yes was thinking over doing a over bath vanity for all the kids toys etc ? count down to starting renos! as in continue the cabinetry along that wall, but have the basin in the area between the shower and bath? That would work well. My parents have a very similar setup in their home, and mum loves it for storing soaps, shampoos, bath salts, etc. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 94May 07, 2010 3:09 pm yes thats exactly what i was thinking of doing ************* First time renovator VIC Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 96May 08, 2010 1:57 pm I like the 2nd plan for the kit/ laundry area (out of these 2 and the one that was under them a few posts back with the door via the kitchen into the laundry) better due to more kitchen bench space, more laundry storage and although the door is via the dining room, if it is the only door to the backyard and the kids use it a lot, they will be coming in and out of the kitchen to access it and it would drive me NUTS! so having them come in and out via the 'once or twice a day used' dining space, that would suit me down to the ground. I can wave to them as they run past the kitchen (and not into the kitchen) to their rooms.. LOVE the plan though, looks amazing and I bet you cant wait to live in the home like this Candice? You must be so excited to get going! thanks for posting somewoman, good job! (I would put a slim basin in the toilet, to make it a powder room, but there doesnt seem to be enough width, plenty deep/long enough but too narrow.) Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 98May 08, 2010 7:13 pm Somewoman ewwwww!!! Thanks kiwi for the tips We only have 80cm width there I have managed to find a small basin with vanity depth is 23cm so will try that in there I am so excited to move in but feel like there is so much I haven't done - cannot find a bathroom vanity I like at all We will work out which way to place laundry door at some stage The kids wil mainly be entering from doors around deck They are 4 and 2 so expect I shall be household cinderellla for a few more years! Main issue is we have heaps of bench space and the bench does go across that wall my island will ahve to be shortened Oh the decisions I dont know how you guys do it from scratch - at least with a reno Im limited by esxisting structure!! I really do appreciate the comments as it all helps immensely especially with a hubby that says "I'll like it if you do dear" when I ask for his opinion Picked tiles today though will get around to my own thread soon!! Cheers Candi ************* First time renovator VIC Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 99May 08, 2010 7:27 pm neil_se Here's my revised plan that I have added windows to and changed floorplan slighty after discussions with the builder.
