Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1347May 16, 2012 8:52 am dan1978 I will be building in the Pasadena Estate in Clyde. There will be eaves all around. I dont know which way is north... Look at the Melways for your estate and picture your block on it ?? Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1350May 16, 2012 2:45 pm Mmm, should it maybe be reversed then? Covered alfresco and family room window only facing west have an awning for fam room window. Garage on west wall etc. bedrooms all on east wall? Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1351May 16, 2012 2:46 pm Would be a much cooler home in summer then Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1353May 16, 2012 2:54 pm Nice plan Dan, the house I'm living in now has a similar configuration, only smaller. Just a couple of questions for consideration: What will be the main use of the rumpus room? would you like to put something big in there like a pool table or is it a space for the kids etc. Depending on how concerned you are with the sound quality in your home theatre you might want to have a look at the dimensions (square is apparently not optimal) Having the back of the block face north you will want to make sure to have enough windows from your living areas to take advantage of that light. My building thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=56583&start=120 Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1354May 16, 2012 3:02 pm dan1978 I dont think l can swao the driveway entrance, do you means just swap the house over (not garage though)? Sorry if its a dumb question, l have never built before Turn your plan over then Hold your plan up to the sun and look at it... See it is now reversed? Will that fit on your block ? It would reverse the drive/ garage too..can that be done? You just have a lot of windows facing west, which is really hot in summer. East is ok, north is optimal... But maybe your block is long and skinny. I reversed my plan. I held mine up to a light and bingo...I went, this will fit on my block so much better...cos the views would be from the living now and not the master!! Give it a go..won't cost you anything, bar your eyes looking at the sun Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1355May 16, 2012 3:11 pm CluelessOne Nice plan Dan, the house I'm living in now has a similar configuration, only smaller. Thanks, we may need to shrink it a bit because of $$$. The rumpus will be the kids room, and the home theatre is my hubbys room, his not really into movies mainly sport. Its his place to go for peace and quiet, not sure where mine is!! Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1358May 16, 2012 3:27 pm Ha ha, no I mean, that is your room! Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1360May 16, 2012 3:29 pm Nor do I. Just put a chair in there and read...get a nice lamp. No one will come find you, cos no one likes that room!!!
