Maybe hang the master bed door the other way? So gives privacy ( like on downton abbey) otherwise great! Lots of house Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1982Apr 04, 2014 9:22 am yeah its a pretty big house, even i can admit! we have our mum moving in; whom needs wheelchair access to the ground floor. got the first lot of quotes in, and i think we need to cut the size of the family room down a bit; remove another stacker slider to get it in on budget. does anyone else have any idea's? 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1983Apr 04, 2014 7:30 pm hello there Kiwi! Haven't seen you in AGES. . . how are ya? Wow, big house with LOTS of bedrooms! I like that the spare bedrooms just fit a bed and a WIR. . . as that's all you need. Not sure about the pantry with access to the garage. . . I'm thinking easy access for bugs into all your food. Our pantry is on an inside wall in the middle of the house, for which I am eternally grateful. The cockroaches and ants have a long and treacherous journey to get there. Firefox. .. Is that your king room on the top floor? I think it's a shame that your mum gets a big suite and you have to share a bathroom! Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1984Apr 04, 2014 7:34 pm I thought the same straight away firefox - I would separate the garage entry from the pantry because of the bug factor....also trooping into the house through the pantry doesn't seem ideal. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1985Apr 05, 2014 1:00 am Firefox...I would switch the shower and toilet positions in your mum's ensuite as it will be easier for wheelchair/toilet transfers etc if it's not tucked away where you have to squeeze past the shower (speaking from nursing perspective). Does she really need / want a bath? Could have a larger walk in shower. Particularly if she needs assistance with showering. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1987Apr 05, 2014 10:52 am Firefox have you looked at the key concepts behind Universal design ( multi-generational living ) ? http://www.yourhome.gov.au/housing/liva ... able-house Seeing as your mum is in a wheelchair you can make things a bit easier for her - wider doorways, large handled quarter-turn taps, powerpoints 1m off the ground, shower curtain instead of fixed shower screen etc. The other thing to watch also is with cavity sliders depending on the handle used, a standard 820mm door will only slide back roughly 720mm making it a bit of a squeeze in a wheelchair. Stewie Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1988Apr 05, 2014 6:58 pm got some great replies here, thanks guys! jodge Not sure about the pantry with access to the garage. . . I'm thinking easy access for bugs into all your food. Firefox. .. Is that your king room on the top floor? I think it's a shame that your mum gets a big suite and you have to share a bathroom! we have seen a few houses now; with pantry/mud rooms straight from the garage. i think its a really great idea when unloading shopping; and somewhere to put all the countless amount of shoes we have in our house in adelaide we dont have much of a cocky problem over here; neither possum's or Ktoads - just mice! so im guessing with the proper sealed doors it shouldnt be an issue. Mum's got the first bedroom and all the access to the lower floor, we are still able and would rather be close to the kids; Mum's got lots of junk so she will need more walk-in and a bigger room. Stewie D Firefox have you looked at the key concepts behind Universal design ( multi-generational living ) ? http://www.yourhome.gov.au/housing/liva ... able-house Seeing as your mum is in a wheelchair you can make things a bit easier for her - wider doorways, large handled quarter-turn taps, powerpoints 1m off the ground, shower curtain instead of fixed shower screen etc. thats a great website! with lots of idea's; fortunately for mum its just arthritis and she uses the chair for help. But planning for the future has been the one key thing we have focused on; in case it gets worse or something happen to one of us. Let alone re-sale; when planning for wheel-chair etc.. isn't much out of spec from standard Cooper05 Firefox...I would switch the shower and toilet positions in your mum's en-suite as it will be easier for wheelchair/toilet transfers thats a great idea; and we have put that in the next revision! We have put the bath in Mum's bedroom, due to its size, the fact that we should have a bath in the house somewhere, upstairs would be more re-enforcement; plus a larger Two-way We have been getting onto quotes now; and once we have signed with the builder ill make up a page. Feeling swamped with all this research and choices we are still really excited 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1989Apr 07, 2014 8:58 pm Hi we are going to be building two houses, one in WA the other in Tasmania, so looking for 2 house plans, I found one I like for WA, the Cape View or Cape heritage, Has anyone built with them and what do you think of the plans, any thing you think that could improve them? I drew up the original concept plans with my partner in autocad and then got a drafting company to draw them up. Had a couple of run-ins with them over copyright but in the end they removed all claim to the design/drawing before we paid the final payment. (cheeky buggers even put their name down as the designer on the drawings until we pulled them up on it) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And here are a couple of renders I did when we were designing the original concept in cad Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1992Jul 01, 2014 5:08 pm Very interesting, can't say I've ever seen a house with a fish room in it before! Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1993Jul 01, 2014 6:32 pm Looks great! I can't see the fish room though. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1995Jul 01, 2014 6:46 pm AJB Looks great! I can't see the fish room though. It's at the back of the entry according to the floorplan (zoom in to get a better view). Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1998Jul 02, 2014 8:54 am Dukecaddy bpratt Here's my floor plans for my owner build. No meals/dining area? Nope, no dining area at all. We've had a dining room table in the old house, and it only became a place to stack crap on. We've been people who eat whereever we can, which is usually sitting in front of the TV or in the kitchen, so for us a breakfast bar in the kitchen is perfect for us. I've been a number of people's homes through the years, and generally nearly all of them don't use a dining room table for its intended purpose. Of course, you probably enjoy your dinners at a dining room table, and not in front of the tv. When we invite people over for meals, that's usually in the warmer months, and that's where the alfresco area is going to get well used in the future. This is our first build, not first home. Unfortunately both purchased before with other people and it didn't work out, left us in debt and struggled to save so this house is financed by Keystart (restricted pricing) WIR for her is closed by door as I get up earlier than him, he tends to use the main bathroom for himself so getting in there is not a worry. We will probably add a door to his WIR too later on when we have more cash. The theatre as you can see is massive - we are planning on having dual couch or one large with a bar/stool and stand with popcorn maker etc at the back. There is only two of us and our Rottweiler so no babies or any plans for them. We did build with 4 bedrooms as the house is being built right next to a primary school. Builders are fantastic - had this design created within 3 days (rush due to Keystart approvals after changing builder due to loss of land) had better inclusions and customised it to suit us and our budget. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 2000Jul 04, 2014 12:44 pm Hi was wondering if you could look at my house plan for me. I only just did it up so their could be lots of mistakes. Anything I need to add / change? http://www.floorplanner.com/projects/29 ... dit#assets We don't have a block of land yet I am just dreaming right now before we look for land. It will be a large block for horses and motorbikes for the kids etc. Hi, Seeking volume or semi-custom builder in victoria(east), which have existing double story wide floor plans.
