Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 28, 2010 3:17 pm Hey guys first time using this stuff, just wonderin if there are any link (forum link you can direct me to, with regards to the topic above). We recently bought a block of land in Mernda and were shopping around for builders, but before we can even do that, we would like to have at least an idea, or if anyone has done it in Woodland waters. Cheers/// 1 quote came back at $22K, another was 20K....(and this is not even fix yet) Re: Site cost, sloping blocks in Woodland waters 2Apr 28, 2010 8:53 pm We have just about finished building on a slopping block in Brisbane, site cost can vary heap depending on the size of the slope to the build zone and how you build on it. We had about 6meter fall so we used a combination of cut & fill for a upper and lower concrete slab plus stumps. To save costs it is best to design the house to the slope (split level) consider using lighter weight building materials like colorbond & james hardies board. This will save money in retaining esp around the house. Will definitely take that into consideration. I only got a maximum of 1.8 meter fall on both sides and enough building area if them builders really play with the sitting. Must admit your bench top is "awesomely sick" (in a great way), very striking design, good on you for having a very innovative design and floor plan. Congrats and surely you'll enjoy your beautiful home. CHeers, Juan Those span tables can be pushed a little for a low deck if you dont mind a little flex.
