Re: When did you get your power connected? 2Apr 28, 2010 12:41 pm I'm also interested in this. We had painters using an extension cord plugged straight into our power box. We thought that ours was late getting the power connected!! All of our tradies had to being their own generators up until way after lockup. The power was connected about two weeks ago - just in time for the kitchen people to come back and do some work on our cabinetry door handles (and nothing since). My first house the power was connected before any other works - everyone on site used the meter box to power their tools and radios. Same deal here. Temporary meter box thing out the front and they used extension cords. We got our proper meter box about 4-5 weeks after lock-up. Same time the electrician came and did the lights, power points etc. I am pretty sure we had to call the electricity company prior to pre-start and open an account (don't quote me on that one though, it may very well have been gas... or water, or all 3. It was a while ago now..) Re: When did you get your power connected? 6Apr 28, 2010 4:52 pm Good question! We were told that it gets connected right before the handover - all tradies use their own power in the meantime. Apparently they even test the power without having it connected to the network. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors.
