Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 27, 2010 12:44 pm Hi ... I'm a newbie to this forum and to building a new home and would love to pick your brains. We are relocating to Bundaberg in the next few months and are really hoping to build a new home in probably the Innes Park area ... but have no idea where to start. I'd love some recommendations for builders ... who has a great reputation in Bundy? Great build quality, but don't charge the earth? Or maybe should have worded that better - but maybe who is value for money - not cheap and nasty. Anyone on here from that area? What sort of soil tests have people been getting in that area? Oh and anything else you can tell me to look out for with builders and even what to look for in the land. Thanks in advance for your help! ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Building in Bundaberg ... all suggestions or ideas welco 2May 10, 2010 7:37 pm Hi RaryGirl. We are currently building in Bundy with Perry Homes. We have found them to be great to date, a little stressfull getting contracts signed and all that Jazz but as far as the building process goes everything has been really good, Great tradies who are all very prompt. There office in Bundy has closed down so they are now based out of Hervey Bay but they still service the Bundy region. Some other good builders up here are Kleidon Homes,Warren Family Homes,Bundy Homes as well as the other bigger ones like Coral & PJ Burns. Soil will depend were your building, anywere near the beach could be a issue as there is lots of volcanic rock but there is some great spots like ours that has great red soil. Hope this helps. Rick Re: Building in Bundaberg ... all suggestions or ideas welco 3May 10, 2010 7:43 pm Thanks so much for your reply Rick. Haven't even looked at Perry Homes, so that's one I'll add to my list. At the moment I'm leaning towards Jubilee Homes ... heard anything about them? We were chatting to a local down at Innes Park and she mentioned all the volcanic rock ... which we hadn't even noticed. It was only after she mentioned it we noticed all the gardens with the volcanic rock edges .. lol. Thanks again for your feedback ... greatly appreciated. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Building in Bundaberg ... all suggestions or ideas welco 4May 11, 2010 8:59 am No problem with the reply, Yes ive been through a display of Jubilee Homes would have been worth of 500k thou.Very nice but no to sure on prices for the average family home. I would suggest to go with one of the bigger builders around the area just in case something was to happen, We had a building company up here go bust around 2 months ago, A lot of unhappy people with jobs not completed. Enjoy the build and welcome to Bundy. Tradie may sit at home but will need to get house plastered as well or will you sit it out? 6 9922 Hi, Looking to add an ensuite to one of the bedrooms and make it a Master BR.
