Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 26, 2010 9:31 am All, I have been looking at all the new houses being built near our place.. For all the houses: The top level is house, Then there is a step down to Porch, and then there is another step down to Garage.. (Garage floor is at a lower level than Porch, which makes sense) In my case, the level of the Garage is higher than Porch. When the driveway will be built, the level of the driveway will be higher than the porch.. Does not sounds right.. Our Contract Specifications say the Garage will be 1 or 2 Brick Courses Step Down (from house level); but the Contract Plans say 63 mm. In actual the Garage is about 63 mm step down, and not 1 or 2 Brick Courses.. The Porch is about 149 mm step down.. I havn't seen a single house that has Garage at a higher level than the Porch.. Any ideas. How is it with your builds.. Re: Levels : House > Porch > Garage 2May 01, 2010 12:58 am Depending on the slope on your land I have seen plenty with garage and driveway higher than the house. One course of brickwork is 86mm so your 63mm is a bit under but do you have a specific reason why that would that be a problem? Don't know if this helps or not? Builders are people too.... Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors. The Centre pillar one side sits proud to the other. Can I change 2 doors into one. Please see picture. 0 6348 isn't a garage level with the rest of the house a given? pretty sure they 'came around' long time ago. if you have a flat block, the garage is usually level with the rest… 1 17525 |
