It really depends on your builder as I've noticed that each builder charges VERY differently. We didn't decide to go with it (after really wanting it for a long time) because too many houses in our suburb and the next one over had it installed so we just went for normal colorbond. If you are staying in said dwelling for a while wood will require maintance and in some ways, while we a want the front of the home to look good, It is the house that counts, not so much the garage. If your upgrading from a basic rollerdoor, like myself and KnockItDown, it will be around $1700-$1800 extra as above. If your upgrading from a sectional door, then it appears to cost around $300-$500 extra. Here in the west builders provide sectional garage doors as standard so the upgrade price is really for the wood-effect only. Rhi3384, a mate of mine got charged $900 for the upgrade which is one of the most expensive I have seen so far. You could always ring/email your builder to find out how much they charge.
