MORE PIC 644Jun 11, 2011 10:38 am SS was sacked...not sure if from HH but certainly from our house.....This is why I havent been on here for a while....nothing has been happening....well except for the brickie who is retrenching our mortar as we speak.. We met the standover...woops meant to say handover....guy and he"s a real piece of work......he tried to offer Mick a credit back to render our house....Mick gave an emphatic ''NO"....we didnt upgrade to Dan Robs bricks, to get them covered over... The brickie damaged alot of bricks whilst trenching, so we were upset with that, and let HH know....he seems to be taking more care now and it is looking okish, we will see what the building inspector thinks. Atleast this time they are putting in the right colour mortar. We chose natural mortar, the grey looking one, and they gave us off white. Which didnt look good with our bluey, browny, grey bricks....the natural mortar looks so much better. So we hope finally we will have action this week. The last 4 months has been a joke....Mick said to our SS....why is no-one working on our house, and SS replies what do you want me to do about it????? That has been where we're at.....that's why Ive had nothing to say..... Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1..No More Mr. Niceguy! MORE PIC 645Jun 11, 2011 10:47 am My gosh that's disgusting!! Have to agree I quite like the grey mortar, it suits our bricks too. Fingers crossed your next update will be abit more positive! Hope you are well!!!! Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1..No More Mr. Niceguy! MORE PIC 646Jun 11, 2011 11:13 am Thanks Flaggie...we're all well thanks, just frustrated. We are now up to 8 months, I wonder if the house will be finished before contract mid July. Heres a pic of trenching underway: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We also have alot of time before we have to get out of this house, and our neighbours are willing to put us up if need be, so we arent desperate to get in until its fully finished.. I was so sure HH would have finished it before EOFY..... On a positive note our solar panels will be going in week starting the 20th June....cutting it fine for June 30 cut off, but we''ll just make it. Also on positive I did purchase something for the house yesterday. Some of you might recognise her, she is a bit of a Melbourne icon... Our brickie finished repointing the mortar and it looked bloody horrible... The builder spoke to Mick and gave us 3 options... 1. Render....no way 2. Repointing mortar by a professional company.... 3. Rebricking... We researched mortar repointing co.....and they seem to do a good job, so we have gone with that option.... also good news is that final works on house have been resumed, they were temporarily put on hold earlier this week when the quality of brickies work was exposed after brick wash... Which means that we could have handover in 2-3 weeks..... And today we have our solar panels being put in....very exciting...It will be a 1.9 kw system.....I will post photos later today... Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 656Jun 23, 2011 2:14 pm I feel your pain... this stage was the worst for us! Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 658Jun 23, 2011 2:56 pm Luckily there's no pressure on you to move into the new house so you can afford to wait for the stuff ups to be fixed ... that's pretty bad isn't it - three attempts to get it right.
