I am not looking forward to eventually selling our house as it will have tenants in it. Much harder to have it looking "nice" and you just don't know what kind of stains and smells will be in the loos. Have a great time away. Hopefully it will be the wind-down you need. PMSL.....Yeah cos you"d hate your house to look lived in Ive been watching way too many lifestyle shows on foxtel over the past year, so I am the queen of Declutter....should start up a business......I even put the box of ratsack inside the washing machine.... Thanks RF, we find out on Good Friday morning when our main contender has his first viewing....his Dad had a look on sat.... I know what you mean about tenants...its hard to find good ones....plus the garden is the main feature of this place....what tenant looks after a garden well? We gunna wind down sipping wine & beer next to The Murray River....our kids love swimming in the big mud puddles....cant wait to see the Murray full.... Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......RED SPLASHBACK!!!!Pics p 563Apr 29, 2011 9:03 pm House has sold again...no party this time...tho I do think it will happen this time...... Long and short is new build has had an independant inspection......and put it this way HH HAVE TO PULL THEIR FREAKIN FINGER OUT.... No-one there doing much this week except putting the wrong overhead cupboard doors on...... HOW HARD IS IT TO READ A PLAN##@@##$$%%^^#@@ Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......RED SPLASHBACK!!!!Pics p 564Apr 29, 2011 9:29 pm Some people can't read...in fact the insulation guy doing our place didn't even need to read he just had to follow the coloured bits on the plan and insulate those walls...he still missed the whole kitchen. Yay for house sold. Very envious right now. I'm hanging to see those perspex overheads!!! Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 569May 04, 2011 12:21 pm Raleighfarm handmick Mick sprung the SS onsite yesterday, and we have been told handover should happen in 4 - 6 weeks... Woohoo...is that within time frame? I think they have about 10 weeks left on their very generous 270 day contract...thats 9 months they have given themselves...and theyre cutting it fine. The house opposite us only took 3 months...they are already in....it is smaller than ours tho.... just Erin oooh handover in site! I'm hanging to see those perspex overheads!!! Would you believe it Erin they put in the wrong overhead cupboards. Instead of the nice massive lift ups we have lots of portrait doors - u know normal cupboard doors... And Mick says doesnt matter...but the lift up are sooo nice, and they are written on every plan...As you know the lift up doors are an extra paid for when we upgraded to the Dolce kitchen. I remember waiting and waiting to see yours... We also could not get the gorgeous technobili sink mixer , like Erins, cos does not fit under box shelf on the back bench.....we will just get something standard and upgrade it ourselves later.. Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 570May 04, 2011 12:25 pm Oh no! Why doesn't it fit? We made sure ours would fit, we were guaranteed it would, and we do have plenty of space! Grrr Overhead cupboards that lift up are awesome! Are you going to keep the other ones, or fight to get the overheads that lift up? Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 571May 04, 2011 12:56 pm just Erin Oh no! Why doesn't it fit? We made sure ours would fit, we were guaranteed it would, and we do have plenty of space! Grrr Overhead cupboards that lift up are awesome! Are you going to keep the other ones, or fight to get the overheads that lift up? Hope it wont come to sh!t fight over cupboards....but it is written all over plan.... As for tap Mick has measured the splashback and it is a bit short....a few mm wrong under and over and splashback is the last to go in.....I think our build has had a very similar time line to yours.... Next build ( not for long time)....we do it ourselves.... Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 572May 04, 2011 12:57 pm handmick Next build ( not for long time)....we do it ourselves.... Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 573May 04, 2011 1:04 pm handmick just Erin oooh handover in site! I'm hanging to see those perspex overheads!!! And Mick says doesnt matter...but the lift up are sooo nice, and they are written on every plan...As you know the lift up doors are an extra paid for when we upgraded to the Dolce kitchen. I remember waiting and waiting to see yours... If the lift up doors are on every plan, and they have installed the wrong (cheaper) ones, then you have every right to have the ones you signed off on and paid more for. Don't settle for second best if you have paid for best. I made them change 6 pot drawers in 2pac because they were wrong and not what I a) wanted, and b) signed in the contract. The SS tried to say that that is how they are all done....but I showed him the signed drawings with the measurements and said, no this is what I wanted and signed off on, and this is what I will get! If it really doesn't matter, make sure you are compensated somehow as you paid for something you didn't receive. Good luck! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! I saw the words lift up doors on the plan, but that only refers to the section above the ovens... I admit my wrong doing ( flashback to confession....bless me father for I have sinned......atleast being catholic God will forgive me ).. Its a bugger cos I wouldve upgraded if I hadve known.....Like I needed more variations.....sheeesh!!! Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 575May 05, 2011 4:35 pm No work today, just front door left wide open........ Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 576May 05, 2011 4:41 pm handmick No work today, just front door left wide open........ Wide open that would really make me that's not good enough, if someone gets in and damages things, you could be waiting another month. I would complain about that. My DS, is a tradie, says he see's it all of the time, things vandalised, even small things and it takes weeks to repair. Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 577May 05, 2011 9:04 pm I just sent CSA & SS from HH an email telling them of the fact, and also letting them know that 2 houses under construction in my street were broken into & all copper pipes and wiring stolen....and nicely suggested that they lock the house!!!!! We dont need any more delays.. Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 578May 05, 2011 9:22 pm Bl00dy h*ll. Seriously it must be hard to get good workers these days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Buggar about the cupboards but at least you figured it out before you went mad at the builder LOL I make sure I double triple check everything now before going spare at builder. (Cose I dont want to look like a d1ck) Having said that you should prob double check your contract cose if you upgraded the kitchen then maybe its in the contract but just not in the drawings ????? Anyway I am sending your builder and tradies hurry up vibes and if they dont they will all grow warts on their noses Cheers Janet Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 579May 05, 2011 9:35 pm They got into the habit of leaving our place unlocked too... doors wide open. Oh no @ overheads! They're still perspex though yeah? They'll look just as stunning, and wont drop on your head when the hinges get lose Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1.......Independant Inspection 580May 05, 2011 9:41 pm Yep atleast I will probably be able to open the overheads now.....they are the perspex but I havent taken a photo cos they have that protection film on them... Erin did you upgrade to lift ups......Im thinking maybe I thought I was getting them cos I saw yours and Michelles.... Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35191 Ha all, I am now about half way (maybe a bit more) through my build with Carlisle Homes - double-storey knockdown/rebuild project.
